Early this morning our angel on Earth went to go be among the angels in Heaven, my sweet Nanny. While my heart is completely broken I have to stay in a world without her, I rejoice with the Heavens that she is now pain free and with her Savior. Words will truly never express how much I loved this woman and how much she meant to me. I once asked my mom why I don’t have many baby pictures with her, and the answer was that Nanny was involved in my every day life, not just occasions. She was the reason why my mom only had to miss one semester of college when she got pregnant with me. She was the reason why my mom was able to continue her education and go on to get her masters right after graduating with her bachelors. All this meant to me while growing up is that I got extra time with my Nanny. Extra sleepovers, extra ice cream after dinner, extra trips to the mall, extra mornings she’d pick me up for church. She made my childhood one I look back on so preciously. Even in the times when life tried us, Nanny’s door was always open and a safe haven was provided. My mom, my brother, and I had the good fortune of living at Nanny and Bigdaddy’s for a year or so, and when the day came for me to move out and start our new life in Marietta, Nanny and I both wept. Her being the Nanny she was though, she made sure to come down and see me once a month and we got our sleepovers and shopping dates back. These are just some of the memories and things I will keep in my heart and miss forever. She was truly one of the most special women I have ever met and it’s so endearing to read so many of you think the exact same thing about her. I won’t look for her in the sunsets because she unfortunately wasn’t much of an outdoors girl unless it involved tanning her legs. Instead I’ll look for her when I’m putting on my make up and am wondering if I need more blush. I’ll see her in everything that is good and holy, as she taught me how to be a God fearing woman. And I sure as heck won’t be getting a tattoo for her.🤪 Nanny’s girl forever.🫶🏼 by @gracehalll_
