POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Why Games?
We get asked this question a lot of times.

Over the years one thing I have discovered is our childhood has the power to shape us and who we become…..
So can you remember how your childhood was?

For me, it was filled with stories, tales my grandfather told my sister and me about our tribe, the heroes of our land, and the people who fought to make the world a better place.

What if we could inspire a new generation of heroes? With 60% of Africa’s population under 25 and a surge in mobile technology, I saw an opportunity.

A way to merge social impact, gaming, and real-world action into something powerful.

That’s how GreenQuest was born.

At GreenQuest, we don’t just educate through games. We equip young people with upcycling skills, turning plastic waste into art, furniture, and resources for their communities. Because change isn’t just about knowing, it’s about doing.
This isn’t just a game. It’s a movement. A movement of hope, inclusion, and empowerment.

This is our legacy.

We visited Araro village at Ibadan, learning from real farmers and understanding the challenges they face as farmers in rural communities with limited resources but big hopes of feeding the nation 👩🏾‍🌾💚

#cropiq #farming #agriculture

Taking this trip was exciting for me because I love adventures and learning about different ways of life and I am grateful for CropIQ, @youth4climate_ and @undp for making this trip happen.

I hoped on an “okada” for the first time in a long time, half of the trip was scary, but I am glad because it was worth it !

Thanks to Korede our Yoruba translator for making our interviews effortlessly, fun fact he is also a Young farmer 👨🏽‍🌾

These lovelies were everywhere, who would have known they had so many of them 🦆😍

This woman was so inspiring, working so hard on the farm with her baby 🥹 #womenarestrong

Thank you for joining in on our adventure and feel free to guess what this is in the caption☺️ by @gracejamesofficial_

At the recent Lagos Games Week, we curated a panel with this year’s She Got Game mentees from Nigeria Oluwaseyi Ogunrinde (@mykiyi_ent) and Grace James (@gracejamesofficial_), joined by four-time She Got Game mentor Sithembile Ncube (@_ladysith) from South Africa. Moderated by Derin Ajao, our West African Programme Manager, the panellists shared their experiences within the mentorship programme and discussed support for women in the business of game design and development.

Something special happened last week🥹

Your girl had the opportunity to speak on the She Got Game panel at Lagos Games Week!

She Got Game by @prohelvetia gave me the push I needed to turn ideas into impact.

Today I’m proud to share that my studio @greenquestinnovations Innovations recently launched Green Quest: Rescue Tides, an immersive game that shares real people’s lived experiences on flooding, and explores stories that rarely get the spotlight.

For us, games aren’t just entertainment; they’re powerful tools for empathy, education, and community-building.

Thank you to Lagos Games Week, @prohelvetia_johannesburg, and everyone who showed up, shared advice, and believed in the potential of African creators.

If was great to also learn about the esports community and the industry as a whole.

If you’re building games, telling untold stories, or exploring how play can drive social impact, I’d love to connect and collaborate.

Four years ago, @greenquestinnovations was just an idea.

I remember asking myself this question in my Dad’s room during one of our long intellectual conversations “What if climate education could be fun and interesting, would that make people more interested in caring for the environment?”

This week, we engaged over 200 secondary school students, and for the first time, they got to play our launched games on their own mobile devices.

Watching them laugh, learn, compete, and share feedback was a powerful reminder of why we started.

Since 2021, we’ve reached over 4,000 children and young people through climate education, community outreach, and gamified learning experiences.

What many people don’t see are the years behind the scenes: the pitches, rejections, silent cries and wondering “who sent me ?”, fundraising, setbacks, rebuilding, and persistence it took to get here.

This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of: World Meteorological Organization @wmo_omm, True Blue Fellowship by @fromthebowseat @gymobilization and @buyscrapng

Thank you for believing in our vision.

Most importantly, thank you to every child who has joined us on this journey and reminded us that the future is worth building.

GreenQuest is evolving. We’re learning, growing, and building something much bigger than us.

And this is only the beginning.
