World mental health today, more about that in a minute, but first the beer.
Dark Skies, an 8% impy from @stroudbrewery purchased a little while ago so probably no longer available but its worth a mention. Dark robust and roasty, slightly sweet molasses keeping this beer from being too bitter, and hint of the whisky barrel aging. It's nothing too complicated, just a really well brewed barrel aged imy stout.
As for world mental health day. Well. I've had a week of feeling truly horrendous and my mind full of dark skies. I started this week questioning if I'd make it through Monday, and somehow I've made it to the weekend. Still here, alive and kicking when I've honestly felt like I don't want to be. A small victory to celebrate.
The dark skies are clearing and brighter days are ahead. I'm much better today with the help of some extra time off, a really understand boss, husband and friends. I've made steps to get myself out of the hole I was in and move on to next week.
Please always reach out if you need help, you'll be met with understanding, patience and love. I promise you you're worth more than you realise. If I can do it, you can too. 💓 my dm's are always open 💓

Leather, from @queerbrewing, a juicy 6% IPA, loads of fruity tropical flavours, this is a really tasty beer that's very easy drinking. This is a brewery that have sadly stopped brewing for now, but I'm hoping they make a return someday 🍻🌈

Zombie Widow from @backcountrybrewing and @changingcoloursbeer.
I love zombies so the can art had me excited straight away.
The beer is so good! Loads of citrus and pine notes, super dank with loads of bitter hop bite but also loads of juciness too to balance it. A great introduction to the Canadian 🇨🇦 beers from @craft_beer_drinking_bloke. Thank you so much, absolutely love this 7.4% hazy IPA 😋😋

It's been a while since I indulged in a #stoutsunday so I'm getting back in the game with @cloudwaterbrew 11th birthday impy. It's a boozy 11%, lots of bitter dark chocolate. Not too sweet. Dark and roasty. A decent brew from this brewery.

This isnt the first time I've had this @electricbearbrewing IPA - the first time was on tap in my local and I loved it then, and I love it in the can too. This is All I Wanna Do is Brew it, and as a homebrewer, this first had me by the name. This has a beautifully soft mouthfeel, thick and super juicy, this is a 6.5% #beergasm. Slightly sweet, mega hoppy, Absolutely delicious. If I had the skills to brew this, then all I'd wanna do, is brew it!

Here at @classic_ibiza Bowod and I've a row of craft beers lined up to see me through the night, starting with an imperial pastry sour ale from @madscientistbeer and @panimotuju. This is super fruity with lingonberries, Vispi Puuro is also a bit creamy and sweet making it really delicious and a 10.5% abv too 😁😁 #sourgasm

I don't recall ever having a red DIPA so here's a first with Gregonomics from @baron.brewing. Not even sure what I should be tasting in red DIPA but this mixes high hop bitterness with sweet caramel malty flavours. What's not love! This is 8.2% and absolutely delicious 😋

Homebrew review time!
So I set out to make a clear, crisp, sessionable pale ale with lemonbalm and elderflower.
As you can see, what I made was not pale or clear! Nor was the abv sessionable, it's come out at around 8%. I chose hops to enhance the lemon flavour from the lemon balm, which sadly hasn't really come through. It does however have a strong elderflower flavour and a dryness that makes it very morish.
I'm disappointed with how this came out, as it isn't what I wanted. I'd use more hops, more lemon balm, more finnings and different malts. It also has a definite homebrew twang that I blame the heatwave for as it was doing it's thing during the stupid 30 something degrees weather.
But it isnt awful, it's drinkable, it dissappears far too quick. And the elderflower is very prominent. A successful failure!
I've named this one, Tilly The Elder 🐈‍⬛️ after my mummy cat we adopted earlier in the year 🐈‍⬛️
Cheers everyone 🍻🍻🍻

I can't resist anything under the Three Times Three series by @omnipollo...
Being a #stoutsunday I'm sipping on Volume 8 - a collab with multiple breweries
@hairofthedogbrewing
@narkekulturbryggeri
@kuhnhennbrewing
@anchoragebrewing
@3sonsbrewingco
@prbrewing
@fidensbrewing
@lyric_brewing
(Hoping I've tagged the right breweries)
This is an 11% impy, that's thick and sticky, very boozy, nutty, and oily.
Very Omnipollo.
Cheers everyone 🍻🍻

I'm enjoying @bearwoodbrewing Nux this #stoutsunday. This is a 6.8% Biscoff stout that's plenty enjoyable although I'd love the biscoff to come through more. Not too sticky or heavy, it's an easy drinking stout for it's abv. Cheers everyone 🍻🍻

Not a beer. But it is crafted by @omnipollo so it gets a spot on my page.
Yolo! is a non alcoholic cola. Is it the best cola I've ever had? Probably.
Very refreshing, quite sweet and now I'm off to put to put a dash or two of rum in it 🥃😋
