On the last day of our Provence retreat, we marked one full year of Linger.

Six retreats in changing landscapes and historic spaces, each resonating with us in their own ways, artists in residence teaching across four beautiful mediums, and incredible women who travelled from all over the world. How lucky we have been to share in this with you all.

We started Linger because we believe deeply in taking care of each other, in art and beauty as essential to our shared humanity, and that each of us is connected. We are one year in, and that belief has only grown.

To everyone who lingered with us this past year, thank you! You’ve made this work incredibly special for us, and we hope to linger with you again. by @graceoffields

What an evening to linger in the moment.
Just as the sun dipped into golden hour and its fleeting rays danced across the Atlantic, we held a linger gathering in a favorite place in Cape Town. Lions Head held high and sentinel, a sheltering calm as the wind swirled around us.

A beautiful night celebrating the simple pleasures of good company, good stories, and good food with a group of kind and brilliant women.

This work in building intention and our shared attention, finding presence, and taking care of you is the biggest honor. Come linger with us. We cannot wait to welcome you. ♥️

I remember driving up to our accommodation thinking to myself how on earth am I going to manage to relax and accept this care in amongst so much that is happening. For the last few years it has felt difficult to feel deserving of such things. “It feels foolish to pause and marvel at the stars when the world is burning”. The final day of my stay I found myself in a deep sigh of relief and tears; not wanting to leave; feeling more held than I had in a long time. I had fallen totally into the care, the loving arms of our hosts and the people I had met. My eyes open to the simplicity and beauty of the little moments of joy around me. Our evenings now rituals ; Every conversation a keepsake. Moments I will cherish and hold dear to me for years to come. Thank you @linger.with

How lucky we are to see Linger in Cape Town through the eyes of @ayeh.kphotography. She told us “the truth about living intentionally, is to ‘linger’ on small moments and connect to ourself and to earth.”

A retreat may feel like a time to leave a too busy world or to refocus on oneself, and while for some that is a welcome rest, there is also another intention for linger. This time together is a softening of outside expectation and for listening to what you already quietly say to yourself. Together we build connection in collective, vulnerability and curiosity, and remembering how good it feels to be fully ourselves and in our bodies.

Mother Tongue holiday box of sweet treats turned out more magical than we even imagined. All of our boxes are spoken for and we are incredibly grateful! Inside each box: two sparkly caramel sugar plum cookies, three chocolate pistachio linzer cookies, Philippine Biko with mango jam wrapped in banana leaf, two sesame 5 spice rice krispie treats, blood orange meringues, tiramisu marshmallows, super sage shortbread, pineapple sandwich cookies with matcha flowers, and two foil wrapped pastillas de leche. You’ll also find a porcelain peapod incense holder and a stoneware fortune cookie ornament (with a message inside just for you).

You deserve a box of sweet treats.

We’re a ceramic artist + a chef who became friends and decided to make feeling homesick a chance to be playful with belonging, to let nostalgia be warm, and to celebrate our different mother tongues + memories. We’re also tender hearts and so naturally, we wanted to bake you cookies.

Mother Tongue is a project for those hearts. These limited sweet treat boxes are playful and sincere, and made to be shared with your people (but we won’t tell if you don’t).

Inside the box:
Chocolate + pistachio butter linzer cookies, mango jam biko wrapped in banana leaf, Chinese 5-spice rice krispies, tiramisu marshmallows, sweet pineapple sandwich cookies with matcha flowers, blood orange meringues, super sage shortbread, and a caramel sugar plum cookie.

Plus! A ceramic fortune cookie ornament + a surprise clay creature tucked away inside the box.

$36 for treats + 2 ceramic objets.
