MENU No. 3 🦪 Grace King at Bar Nero.

Oysters, fennel salami, bresaola and ricotta on broad bean toast. Caponata and focaccia for the table, braised chickpeas with parmesan, radicchio on the side.

Orange cake to finish, or fennel and sesame biscotti with lemon mascarpone.

Settle in, order another plate. Happy hour runs 5–7pm

Bangkok eating and drinking 🍽️

Thai milk tea at this gorgeous western cafe frozen in time. Bangkok staple.

Jay Fai’s crab omelette. Stuffed to the BRIM. Enjoyed best with her special siracha.

Best mango sticky rice I’ve had and one of three plates I devoured in the 48 hours we spent in Bangkok. Addicted.

Tom yum soup with minced pork and egg noodles.

Aunty Nid’s Thai milk tea.

Top dish of the trip for me. Clams in Thai basil, garlic and chilli. A mystery sauce that escapes me but was genuinely magic.

Everything @henry.griffin and I ate in Shanghai. Starting with this beautiful platter of Peking duck accompaniments. All your classics plus fresh cantaloupe, sticky apricot sauce and, of course, white sugar to dip the crispy skin in.

The duck accompanied by said platter. Insanely juicy and sweet.

It’s leg and the best part of the skin.

Gelatinous seaweed soup with leftover crab meat from picking. Seasoned with much black vinegar (my kryptonite) and devoured for breakfast.

Bean shoots with crispy bean curd and peanuts.

Pistachio dirty coffee and butter and cinnamon dirty coffee. I’m such a sucker for Chinese coffee culture.

Could take out top dish of the trip for me. Pork threads with garlic shoots, bean sprouts and a sauce freckled with Sichuan peppercorns. Not spicy, just beautifully floral and numbing.

Xiao long bao oh my god!!!!!!! Best I’ve ever had. Shanghai’s Xiao long bao’s are filled with crab meat and roe. This restaurant owns a crab processing factory to pick the meat themselves rather than using frozen. You can tell.

The colour!!!!!

Mung bean jelly noodles in peanut sauce.

Cold egg noodles with shredded chicken and cucumber. Very refreshing.

A side of broth to go with. Not advertised but very welcomed by me.

Sheng Jian bao omg my mouth is watering looking at this photo look at that gradient sorry I can’t even that thing is so yummmmmmmmm.

Cute sweet jasmine matchas with little pandas!

Sweet water noodle. A Sichuan dish but enjoyed equally in Shanghai by us.

Young jujube. I had never had a young jujube before! Tastes nothing like it’s mature, dried form. Much more like a Fuji apple. Pre dinner snack. taken in Shanghai 上海外灘 by @gracewestking

Everyone has told me I will love this restaurant. Everyone was right!!! This was my favourite dish, red porgy on amaranth greens with a really thin, lemony tarama. The best produce Greece has to offer!!! @lsandsia 🐟

Incredible tuna.

Athen’s best pita and tarama. Has to be!

House made sheep’s cheese and honeycomb.

Amberjack, tomato water, rock samphire. Deep flavours of the sea.

Most interesting menu item and definitely one of the best things I ate in Greece. Raw prawn topped with bone marrow on a squishy potato bread. Full of chives surprisingly!

Smoked eggplant with soft feta.

Tuna gyros burger WOW! So heavily spiced and deliciously meaty.
