Tulsa Tech Week left me energized by what’s possible when technology, entrepreneurship, and community come together.

My biggest takeaways:
AI works best when it frees people for more human work-not when it replaces judgment
-Strong adoption starts with disciplined processes and clear guardrails
-authentic local businesses can improve how they show up in AI-driven discovery
-Strategy must come before marketing tactics.

As I approach six years living alongside Tulsa’s technology and startup community, I’m grateful for this ecosystem and the people building within it. Moving from SaaS sales into the local healthcare ecosystem has been especially meaningful-helping founder and entrepreneur friends learn about healthcare options they may not have known existed.

I hear this pretty much every day. Tribal healthcare is great, and such a blessing to those who can use it.
There certainly are benefits, though to having a membership for DPC, despite having free healthcare through the tribes.
I know plenty of people who use our clinics for the everyday preventive care, telehealth, and to avoid urgent care. They keep tribal care in their pocket for catastrophic needs and specialist referrals that they can get exponentially quicker through a DPC physician taken in Downtown Tulsa by @gracewithphp

The inaugural CHROMA event was today and WOW!
The Tulsa tech community is alive and thriving. From big tech like Microsoft and NVIDIA down to baby companies that are barely out of conception, and everything g in between, we are a city with such force!
Plenty of lessons to learn today, but my biggest takeaway from today was just how connected this community is. It’s unlike any other tech community. We are big enough to have plenty of spaces for emerging and large companies to coexist together, while also being able to collaborate and magnify each other due to the smaller, deeply connected ecosystem we have here.
The energy today was palpable in every talk, every networking event, every interaction.

Nobody likes urgent care. Most people don’t know their PCP.

Meanwhile, my family has not seen the inside of an urgent care in years, and my family has seen our PCPs 9 times this year the same day we had acute needs. Thank you to the Broken Arrow Chamber today for such a great small business lunch event. I will always be satisfied with lettuce wraps on the menu!

I love the conversations at my table with folks around our community, the astronomical jump in costs that we are seeing with healthcare premiums, and how we can take creative approaches to have more accessible healthcare.

Prior to meeting my table, I got to chat with one of the presenters, Tiffany King of McWilliams Media, and she is such a lovely human! Thank you for sharing amazing insights into helping businesses show up via AI. It was interesting to see an audit of PHP’s local present online and Tulsa market!

Sean Fullerton of NSN Management really got into the weeds of truly making AI work for you. Big points from him were that AI doesn’t fix broken processes, it just helps you run them faster.
