I’ve spent the last few days asking anyone I’ve connected with what their biggest lesson was in 2025.

Amara said cookies, Zarah said not to lie because it creates more trouble.

For me, I learned that boundaries aren’t just about protecting joy, they’re about building the life you actually want. Without them, I gave until there was nothing left. And sometimes it felt easier to keep doing that than to stop. But a lack of boundaries is a quiet kind of self abandonment, and this year taught me not to do that anymore. Because I physically, mentally, emotionally couldn’t.

My phrase for the year was so much fun, and I’m suuuuper grateful for the people who kept calling me back into it dancing, laughing, living, even when things were hard behind the scenes.

Last year looked joyful. And it was.
But it also changed me in ways you can’t always see.
Somehow, both things were true. Which made it feel like being truly alive. The ultimate dream. by @graciainspired

Our rental is 111 years old, and it’s always fascinating to think about the different eras it’s survived and all of the life it’s seen. We’ll find ourselves thinking about notable historical events and realize that, wow, this house was already erect when it took place. It’s a thoughtful way to look at life; from a historical perspective inspired by the age of this house. On days where I want to give up, this perspective reminds me of the importance of building things that can withstand the test of time and what all of that means.
