a long, lush look at @visiblecloaks’ music video for “thinking / shapes,” featuring @yoshioojima and @satsukishibano, crafted with uk-based photogrammetrist @gradeeterna ⟁⟁⟁

alternating between two methods of 3d scanning, visible cloaks and grade eterna captured visual information from physical environments to generate digital representations. then, they utilized their virtual camera to navigate past the edges of these generated models, entering the reflective, labyrinthian territory beyond boundaries. as they (and we) explore this decayed, impressionistic periphery, slivers of the piece’s text float, delicately superimposed in french, japanese, and english

an extended glimpse of @visiblecloaks’ video for “disque,” created in collaboration with uk-based photogrammetrist @gradeeterna ⿻⿻⿻

harnessing 3d scanning technology, visible cloaks and grade eterna transformed the physical environment of a london greenhouse into a virtual model within game engine software. then, through an interplay of randomized camera paths and modulated effects, countless generated perspectives of the space gently unfurl synchronously with the sonic architecture. the full video is out in the ether now, ready for your viewing / listening enjoyment 🪞

A short tutorial on how to train directly on 360 equirectangular images in LichtFeld Studio using 3DGUT, without having to split the images into perspective views!

The downside of training with 3DGUT is that regular 3DGS web viewers don't render them correctly, but hopefully they will add support for this soon!

The scan is from Square Rapp in Paris, captured a few years ago with Insta360 RS 1" 360.

Another 3DGUT scene trained on @insta360 X5 fisheyes, testing the PureVideo mode for low light. It did some weird stuff to the highlights, but still pretty good for how dark it was in there.

Porting over some HLSL point cloud shaders over to Spark, a 3D gaussian splatting renderer for Three.js.

Some of the effects look a bit messy with 3DGS, but fun to play around with!

Also using their new depth of field here which looks really nice.
