POSTS STORIES REELS

3 years ago we made the choice to move to India! It’s been crazy to look back and realize how fast time has flown by.
.
There are so many things we have loved about this opportunity to immerse ourselves in another culture and to explore so many places we otherwise wouldn’t have. The people! The energy! The beauty!
.
We have never met so many people - strangers even - that would go out of their way for you, as we have in India. So many encounters have made us really reconsider who we want to be and the amount of openness we want to share with others moving forward!
.
India is chaotic! The sounds, the traffic and crazy driving, the smells - really there is a sort of sensory overload at times. But through it all, there’s an energy and vibrance that we can’t get enough of. We visited the US last year and were taken aback by how eerie it felt! We missed the excitement that we know would be there right around the corner in India!
.
The unique history in India brings about so many amazing traditions, colors, and architectures! Everywhere, there is something truly beautiful to witness. This trip to Rajasthan has been a dream, but we have realized that there is really so much beauty all around and we can’t wait to keep exploring it!

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are so close to India that we couldn’t miss out on visiting and we are so happy we did! We spent the week on Havelock Island and got to enjoy beautiful beaches 🏝, scuba diving 🤿, and great relaxation!
.
The highlight was having the most ideal conditions for seeing the Milky Way from the beautiful @jalakara resort. It’s an experience we will never forget 🤩
.
The Jalakara Resort has been our favorite stay till date and this is mainly because of all of the sustainable practices they have implemented on their properly! 🙌
.
🌱They grow a lot of the food they cook with on their property - farm to table!
🌱They have a rain water retention system to help minimize their water impacts
🌱They’ve minimized all single use materials for your stay!
.
They are a unique boutique hotel only open for part of the near and only have 6 or so rooms on their property, so we highly recommend looking up availability and booking your trip accordingly! It’s absolutely worth the visit ❤️

🙌 Exciting Diwali special for you below 👇
.
We got into composting about 18 months ago when we learned about the impacts of food waste in landfills! Methane gas is released when food decomposes in a landfill setting without proper access to oxygen. This is an even stronger greenhouse gas than CO2 which means it has a bigger impact on our environment 😔
.
The challenge is, the idea of composting seemed so daunting. Where do we start? How do we do it right? What do we use? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️ These were all questions we had when initially considering it.
.
Fortunately, @dailydumpcompost made the process of getting started EXTREMELY easy! There are so many helpful videos on their website, once you pick and buy their composter they follow up with you to help answer any questions you might have via WhatsApp, and they are with you every step of the way with the right tools and support! ❤️
.
We couldn’t have done this without them! That’s why in this Diwali season, we want to share a special discount with you to hopefully help make getting started on your journey even easier! 😄
.
Use code: GRALLIVANT10 for a 10% discount on their composters through Nov 30th!
.
Check out our Compost highlight for more details and tips on composting 👍

❓What questions or concerns do you have about getting started with composting?! We’d love to help answer what we can! 😊

🚨Life Update!
.
After 4 incredible years, the time has come to move back to the USA. The news is definitely bittersweet. On one hand, we both have new incredible opportunities waiting for us stateside. But on the other, India really has become our home and we are sad to be leaving our close friends and the lives we have here. ❤️
.
This past week we celebrated one of our last weeks living on this hemisphere with a trip to the Maldives! We are definitely going to miss being so close to so many cool places 😄
.
Grant officially moves back on Tuesday while I’ll get to stick around in India through the end of Sept. Looking forward to making the most of our time left and planning future visits back 😉
.
Zindagi na milegi dobara 🙌 We have loved living every day to it’s fullest while in India and will cherish these memories for a lifetime 🙏

Definitely the best sunset we caught in 2022! 🤩
.
So happy we made the trip to Abu Simbel and stayed there over night. The Sound and Light show is really nice! We got to enter at 5pm and have this temple all to ourselves until people started to arrive for the show 😄

Egypt has been on our bucket list for a while now! So glad we visited over the last 2 weeks. It was everything we hoped for and more 🙌
.
We started off our trip visiting Cairo and the Great Pyramids of Giza! 🤩
.
This really set the tone for the whole trip! It is truly incredible to think about how these massive structures were built over 4500 years ago in an age with fairly limited tools. It also says a lot that these marvels have been able to withstand the tests of time to be the last remaining ancient wonder of the world still standing. 🤯
.
🚨Tips for your visit!
😶‍🌫️ It was surprisingly windy and foggy in the mornings in Cairo in December making the visibility of the pyramids limited. The fog cleared up by 11am though which you can see in the last picture ☝️!
⏳ You can go inside the pyramids (we entered the Great/ Khufu’s Pyramid), but go early (by 8am) to beat the crowds. There are thin tunnels you have to crawl through and limited space for 2 directions of traffic. Many people turn back when it gets too crowded because it is a very difficult climb with so many people.
👀 For a great view of all 9 pyramids and a delicious brunch/ lunch, we recommend booking a reservation in advanced at @9pyramidslounge. The Egyptian breakfast there was delicious!🤤
