THE MAIN Street of the island of Hirta, in the St Kilda archipelago... abandoned in August 1930, it's now home to the National Trust for Scotland rangers who look after the buildings and surrounding 'Cleits' and wild Soay sheep and bazillion birds...
It's also a double world heritage site and a 'secret' radar early warning site ...

SORRY, NOT SORRY...! After a morning of cloud and rain at the East Beach, on the island of Berneray, I took car round to the West Beach and just as the sun came out I hit the beach... ooft! Talc like sand, aqua marine waters, a wee perfect hour or so before clouds came back in ... ♥️

THE, tried to hoof it up 'n' over to Duncolm Hill but, it's been years, and the trees have grown and it's a big bog, so, naw,wander.
Another heid cleanser wander up the ol' KPs and an attempt to wander over from above Burncrooks Res to Duncolm Hill, but, it's been years since I've been up here and wandered through the trees (most no longer here, and the others have grown together thickly) and as usual up there, it's a bog, so, returned to car at St Mocha doon the road making a loop... 😆

ON today's tootle up the Forth n Clyde Canal (or, Nollie) fir 'the messages' the Temple Gasometers rose oot the bushes behind Lock 27 PUB!! 😆 then onto the EMPTY Maryhill Locks where the aquaduct over Maryhill Road has been emptied so the brickwork can be sealed to stop the leaks.
The Maryhill Locks are 236 to 239 years old, having been built between 1787 and 1790 as part of the Forth & Clyde Canal in Glasgow.
Then onto the recently opened Stockingfield Junction where the Forth n Clyde Canal splits to go into the city centre and out towards Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch and then onwards east.
Tesco shopping let down so back to Morrisons at Anniesland via the River Kelvin and its old former railways and via waterfalls ... good afternoon 7.7 mile wander.

AS Violet Leighton is 'indisposed' for next SIX hours lyin' doon! I'll just nip up the Edenmill and wander up to the Burncrooks Reservoir, so I will!
Haven't been up in over a year and yer 'rewilding' is going on great guns!!!
The reservoir is also full to the gunwals and I can see the lovely sunshine this morning being swept aside by the raging clouds from the west...!

A BIT of historical Culture for me and the Violet one with a fab visit to the GOVAN STONES in the old Govan Parish Church...the oldest ... with thought provoking grave stones and ancient HOGBACK stones... and sarcophagus ... it's FREE ....well worth a visit when yer in Govan...for whatever reason lol 😆 The Transport Museum and a quick walk over the new bridge to the church and then a wee 300m walk to a Clyde Ship Building behemoth- Fairfields...! GETTING to play TAMBO with the FABULOUS LYNSEY DOLAN BAND on their hit single 'HIGHER' at the 2026 Callander Blues 'n' Jazz Festival at the Waverley Hotel.
A wee surprise from Lynsey, thanks pal glad I 'Just happened to have my tambo with me!!' 😆
Thanks to Gavin Bussey (lead guitar), Callum Wilson (lead drums) and Ian Fulton (lead bass) and to Lynsey herself on lead vox and keys and acoustic guitar...outstanding band and should be 'Higher' up the charts...
Major Thanks to Ian Morrison fir capturing my fav wee moment of the 'eventful' month... ❤️

A WEE trip 'Doon the Waater' with the Violet one over to Dunoon (bouncy ferry) cracking luncheon in the Argyll then easy tootle along coast through Innellan As the waves gave cars a waash...!
Then the long drive back 😆

PORT NAM MURRACH beach, Rhu Arisaig, is one of my favourite wee get away to beaches and was a regular stop over in my wee red tent during my kayaking days around Arisaig.
A photo popped up on my phone and now I'm off Facebook a week I thought I'd share it and thdn others just to cheer me up even more... thanks for watching ...
