✨Helloooo little people in my phone-
My name is Crowley (kraow-lee)! I use they/she pronouns and am the proud co-owner of @hotdamntattoo. I am in my fourth year of tattooing but I got my degree in illustration in 2020. I am a collector of bones, house plants, and jewelry. I love Japanese food, weight lifting, animals, and Robert Eggers movies.
Art generally occupies most of my waking life-I enjoy all kinds of crafting, sculpting, and painting when I’m not tattooing and love to consume all kinds of music, books, and animated media to keep me inspired! I was raised by biologists and my love for science and the natural world definitely informs a lot of my practice. I think a lot about what has inspired humans to create across history and it is often our desire to somehow capture the world around us, to feel we have become a part of something by being able to draw it. I think I generally try to tune in to the feeling of there being something more to existence than the eye can see, to tap into the childlike mindset of magic lurking in every corner if you decide to seek it and leaning into all of the potential fun the world has to offer.
I hope every year to only become a sillier and more authentic version of myself and I am so grateful to everyone that has helped me on this journey!! Thanks for reading all of this if you made it to the end and I hope you find something here to connect to 💐 taken in Portland, Oregon by @grandparoadkill

Does this count as #inktober? More mermaids on the way later but wanted to chuck this out here because I haven’t posted flash in ages! These can all be done in color as well 🐠

#inktober week 1! Historically the UK hasn’t been the most inspiring place for me but this visit I’ve been really focusing on paying attention to the folkloric history of the island and it’s been returning the energy in droves. Visited a 6,000 year old Neolithic burial site and the largest megalithic monument in Europe, feeling very grateful to be alive and to be human in this period of time. taken in London by @grandparoadkill

#inktober day 1! I had a dream the other night that I was building a giant structure out of branches in the woods and a maned wolf was circling me, maybe trying to help? Open to interpretation if anyone has any thoughts. The day after, my friend and I encountered this fox near a giant oak tree in London. I feel so fortunate seeing them here when they’re so rare back home. Hope you’re all enjoying this entry to fall and spooky season 🎃 by @grandparoadkill

Gauntlet doggy from my flash! Haven’t decided if this guy is defending his owner or stealing their armor…either way, love how this one came out. Thank you ! ⚔️

With Mabon/solstice quick approaching, it’s time to say a final goodbye to summer as we move from long days of playing to a darker, cozier time focused more on gratitude and rest. This summer brought me so much closer to the landscape of the west and deepened my relationship with a lot of important people in my life! In a lot of ways it’s felt very transitional, but it’s good to remember that often discomfort is a sign of change, and moving in any direction is better than stagnation. As always, I’m so grateful for all of you and I’m looking forward to what autumn has to offer 🍂 take care out there ! by @grandparoadkill

Keep the Artemis tattoos coming you guys…. Sam gave me so much creative freedom with this one and I loved the incorporated carnations, which are said to have grown from the blood of a shepherd she struck down for scaring off her prey in a hunt. Thank you so much 🌙🏹

Howl’s Castle for Chloe! The first pic is actually the healed one they sent, you can swipe to see it fresh. Such a fun one to do and really the first thing I’d consider a “full color” tattoo since it involves some more painterly application. Thanks so much for sitting for this one, you’re a beast !

I’ve been LOVING these freehand drawn-on projects recently. They require a lot of trust (thank you Marley!) but they’re perfect for gap fillers and they always feel like the most collaborative style of tattoo. It’s so fun to see the image reveal itself 👻
