Worcester Photo Dump #1- Food edition

Although I are a lot from Tesco Express ($5.76 US for a meal was a DEAL) I did have some wonderful meals over in the UK! I ate so much, but also lost weight haha!

For a long time, I carried the fears that came before me.

The “Be careful.”
The “Is this really safe?”
The quiet worry that traveling to a new country meant stepping too far outside the world she knew.

And I understand it now.

Sometimes our parents’ fears are really love wearing a worried face. They come from wanting to protect us from every danger, every disappointment, every unknown thing waiting beyond the horizon.

But eventually, we have to learn the difference between honoring their fear and inheriting it.

So here I am—standing in a place I had never been before, looking at a world I had only imagined.

And I’m realizing that I don’t have to be afraid simply because someone I love was afraid for me.

I can be careful AND courageous.
I can carry my parents’ love WITHOUT carrying every fear that came with it.

Maybe growing up is partly learning to say:
“Thank you for protecting me. But you don’t have to protect me from the whole world anymore.”

There is so much life waiting outside the places we know.

And I’m finally letting myself go see it.

And I just know that my mom is still looking after me, trying to protect me from the dangers and hurts of the world. taken in Worcester by @gravesbj86

I’ve officially been in Cincinnati for a year!
I never would have thought moving here would help me find the parts of me that I had lost in grad school, but it has. Here’s to another year in the Midwest, full of life, laughter, and research! by @gravesbj86

We revealed pur community art project for Play in the Park tonight. Three weeks ago, the community was encouraged to use mode podge on corrugated plastic. 2 weeks ago a local artist took the plastic and created the animals, all of which are local to Cincinnati. The intent is that we place them in different areas of the park each week! Can you tell which one is my favorite? #playinthepark #makeartmakecommunity by @gravesbj86

I enjoyed my first experience with the @runflyingpig! Not only did I PR my 10K time, the health expo, family fun fest, and the entire experience were just amazing! Can’t wait for next year- I’m gonna train for the 1/2 marathon! by @gravesbj86
