I’ve done 16 of these promos now for @a_sunday_thing and I love the challenge of adapting and subtly shifting the design language each time. The graphic motifs have evolved since the first series but remain connected through use of space and division of shape. A pared back aesthetic informed by three acts coming together on the seventh day of the week has moved on to represent a two way dialogue represented by more complex arrangements. It always represents sound and it always represents the way Chris expertly engages with his guests. It’s a passion project that has grown into something that represents a really beautiful community spirit. A small room full of people in fits of laughter with Mark Radcliffe or John Thomson. Everyone locked in to the sound of an emerging band or artist. Impeccable selections from the Gravy Train DJs to see out the evening.
