Last trip of the season was maybe a bit more Graybird than we hoped for, but legit pow turns on June 7th and a type 2 fun adventure were the perfect way to end the 2026 skison!

Nowhere like it. Powder under the midnight sun. Ski to sea. Reindeer, Arctic Fox, Walrus, and Polar Bears (not seen on this trip). Skiing about as close as possible to the North Pole.
Who’s coming next year? 4 spots left!

@shanecrobinson is the guide who helped start my backcountry skiing (splitboarding) journey. He taught my first AIARE course back in 2018, and I’ve been working with him as a guide and mentor ever since.

Shane is an incredibly generous teacher and friend, and it’s wild to think of how many experiences I’ve had in the mountains as a direct result of my time with him: from hut trips in Canada to slurping ramen in Hokkaido to having photos published in Ski Journal.

As someone who loves to ski the best snow, I’ve been blown away at Shane’s ability to help balance both (1) having a great time in the mountains with (2) helping people develop towards their outdoor goals, whether that’s as athletes, aspiring guides, or industry professionals.

If you’re looking for a guide or a mentor in the backcountry skiing space, I can’t recommend @graybirdguiding and @shanecrobinson enough. Thanks for another awesome time up north; I’m already looking forward to next year ⛷️ taken in Golden, British Columbia by @graybirdguiding

I guess I need to schedule more #TourMentorship days next year, because every one this year has been 🙌🏾❄️. Some of the best days of the season for sure.

Plus, one theme year after year, is that participants often say these days are the best tours of their year as well, which we are always so stoked to hear.
