Wanted to share a little life updateā€¦ šŸ’› Over the past few years, working with nonprofits through my catering and events work, I noticed something: there are so many incredible organizations doing life-changing workā€”and just as many people who truly want to help. Often, the missing piece isnā€™t willingness its connection. Aligning people with opportunities that reflect their values and purpose can make all the difference. Iā€™ve always loved bringing like-minded people together, not to gain anything, but to foster shared humanity and show up for others with Christlike love both here in West Michigan and around the globe. Iā€™ve seen how relationships, education, empowerment, storytelling, and simply believing in someone can help people feel seen, valued, and invited into something meaningful. We try to teach our boys to be the light and to honor the light in others. Iā€™m grateful my work shows them what that looks like walking alongside others in ways that help everyone shine. I didnā€™t set out to do this work, I resisted it for a while, but God kept nudging me forward. A couple years ago, I said ā€œyes,ā€ and Iā€™m especially grateful to my first client, @critter_barn, who welcomed me as their coordinator and have supported me as Iā€™ve grown and partnered with other nonprofits. Somewhere along the way, this work found a name Nonprofit Campaign & Events Coordinator but it feels less like a title and more like a calling. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and the organizations I get to walk alongside it truly means more than I can say. You all are change makers! If thereā€™s one thing Iā€™ve learned, itā€™s this: donā€™t let fear hold you back from what God is calling you to. He will meet you there, guide your next steps, and bring incredible people into your life to walk alongside you, encouraging you to face the fear, keep going, and remember why you took that first step. Tonight was nothing short of magical. I had the incredible honor of planning a 50th Anniversary celebration for my clientā€™s parentsā€”a night filled with warmth, elegance, and a love that has truly stood the test of time. Every detail paid tribute to a couple whose bond is the very definition of everlasting love. From the recreated wedding cake by @apbakedgoods to the clam shell napkin rings and the heartfelt speeches that brought tears to my eyesā€”I was reminded exactly why I love what I do. The pool has become so much more than a pool. šŸ¤ Itā€™s become a gathering place. A place to linger, connect, laugh, share, breathe, pray, and heal. A little respite in a difficult season. And maybe thatā€™s what Iā€™ve loved most about it itā€™s reminded me that even in hard seasons, we can still create spaces that hold joy, peace, connection, and hope. It became a place where vulnerable and brave conversations happened, thanks to the support of @became_brave. These conversations led to healing, growth, change, and relentless hope. Our homes donā€™t have to be perfect. They just need places where people can exhale. Places that invite people in. Places that remind us there is still beauty here. There is still good here. There is still hope. There is still such a lovely, messy life. 41 was the hardest year yet and one I wish to never repeat, but yet I am grateful for these 42 years and all it has taught me. Surrender. Pray boldly. Have Faith. Lean on Others. Seek Joy. Look for Miracles in the ordinary. Laugh. Be Silly. Do Good. Speak up. Love others. Love yourself. Be humble. Take care of you. Do the healing work. Be brave to be you. Be authentic. Dance. Slow to judge. Be the helper. Be empowering and full of grace. ā€¦..And these are just SOME of the life lessons learned. Ready for what year 42 will bring. I know that brighter days are ahead!
