You don’t need a quiet house to calm your nervous system. You need three breaths and a red light.

Most mornings start before you’re even awake. Someone needs a snack, a signed permission slip, a ride. By 7:15 you’re already behind and your shoulders are up by your ears.

For years I believed taking care of myself had to be a whole thing. A full workout. A full hour. If I couldn’t do all of it, it didn’t count.

Motherhood broke that belief wide open.

Here’s what I shared on Speakers & Stages: calming your nervous system doesn’t require a spa day or a 30-minute meditation you’ll skip by Wednesday.

Before your feet hit the floor: three deep breaths. That’s it.

In the car: red light meditation. Every red light is your cue to drop your shoulders and take one slow breath.

You’re not bad at self-care. Your plan was just too big for your actual life.

These tiny resets count toward your 2%. The mom who breathes at the red light is a little more patient at pickup. Something beats nothing.

We also talked about starting with one small joy-filled habit, why your confidence changes when you feel good in your body, and my pre-speaking ritual (yes, there’s dancing!).
