💙 Celebrating the Year of the Woman Farmer! 💙 Agriculture takes many forms, and behind every farm is a story of dedication, hard work, and a deep connection to the land. This year, we’re celebrating the women who nurture that connection and strengthen our local food systems in so many different ways. 💚 Meet Brittany of Green Leaf Farms NC, a daughter and farmer carrying forward her family’s farming legacy, rooted in the land, tradition, and the work of growing food for her community through regenerative agriculture.  Say hey and support her work by making an order for pick up. A bonus for picking up is seeing beautiful farm views and getting to know your local farmer. And meet Alisha Street, growing flowers and herbs within a vegetable farm, bringing color, beauty, biodiversity, and new possibilities to the agricultural landscape.  She is working alongside us to build more awareness about our products through social media, digital marketing, and events (stay tuned for the wreath making workshop details)! Two women. Two different paths in agriculture. One shared community right here in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Farming can be challenging, and no one should have to grow alone. By connecting, sharing knowledge, celebrating one another’s successes, and showing up for each other, we’re building a stronger agricultural community for everyone. Supporting women in farming means recognizing that there is room for many kinds of growers, many traditions, and many ways to contribute to the future of agriculture. Here’s to the women who grow our food, cultivate beauty, preserve family traditions, and make space for the next generation of farmers. Hey all! We’ve been gearing up for a special new offering for you and your friends at the farm! We’ve always offered the opportunity to tour our farm, event space, soak room, and animals, with a little time to shop our farm store and take some goodies home. Now, you can also take advantage of our beautiful farm views and the cutest picnic setup you’ve ever seen! Farm tours and our picnic experience are available by appointment only. To reserve a day and time, email us at greenleaffarmsnc@gmail.com. 🌻 Farm Tour: $10 per person 🧺 Farm Tour + Picnic Experience: $15 per person Bring your own lunch, settle in, and enjoy a little time on the farm. 🌻 Chorizo Breakfast Skillet A hearty, one-pan breakfast made even better with fresh farm ingredients! This skillet brings together Green Leaf Farms chorizo and eggs, crispy potatoes, peppers, onions, and a sprinkle of @streetfarefarm sunflower shoots for an optional boost of fresh, plant-based protein. Add an optional avocado on top for essential fats! What You Need • 1 lb Green Leaf Farms chorizo • 2 large potatoes, diced • 1 bell pepper, diced • 1 onion, diced • 4 to 6 Green Leaf Farms eggs • Street Fare Farm sunflower shoots, optional • Salt, pepper, chili powder or smoked paprika • Shredded cheese or hot sauce, optional How to Make It 1. Brown the Green Leaf Farms chorizo in a large skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Remove the chorizo and leave the flavorful drippings in the pan. 2. Add the potatoes, onion, and pepper. Cook until the potatoes are golden and tender. 3. Stir the chorizo back in. Make little wells in the mixture and crack a Green Leaf Farms egg into each one. 4. Cover and cook for 4 to 6 minutes, until the whites are set and the yolks are still a little runny. 5. Top with cheese, hot sauce, Street Fare Farm sunflower shoots and/or avocado!
