"🤔 DID YOU KNOW...?

🌱 A seed can wait until conditions are right before it begins to grow!

Seeds need the right combination of water, oxygen, and temperature to begin germination. Until then, many seeds can remain dormant — almost like they’re waiting for their moment.

🌟 This Week’s Challenge: Find a seed in your kitchen or outside. What do you think it would need to begin growing?

🌿 Grow food. Grow minds. Grow character.

"🌱 WHO WAS...? Booker T. Washington

Booker T. Washington was an educator, author, and leader who believed deeply in the power of education and opportunity. Born into slavery, he went on to become the first leader of Tuskegee Institute, now Tuskegee University.

⭐ What can we learn from him? Education can open doors — and determination helps us keep moving toward them.

❤️ Character Trait: Determination

🌟 This Week’s Challenge: Set one learning goal for yourself this week and take the first step toward it.

🌿 Grow food. Grow minds. Grow character.

🇺🇸 CIVICS: What does it mean to be a good citizen?

Being a good citizen starts with how we show up for one another — at home, at school, and in our communities.

🤝 It can mean respecting others, taking responsibility for our actions, helping when we can, caring for shared spaces, and learning how our community works.

🌟 This Week’s Challenge: Do one thing this weekend that makes your school, neighborhood, or community a little better.

🌿 Grow food. Grow minds. Grow character.

🤔 DID YOU KNOW...?

🪱 Earthworms are tiny soil helpers!

As earthworms move through the ground, they create tunnels that help air and water reach plant roots. They also help break down organic material, returning nutrients to the soil.

🌱 Healthy soil is alive — and earthworms are part of the team.

🌟 This Week’s Challenge: Take a closer look at the soil around you. What signs of life can you find?

🌿 Grow food. Grow minds. Grow character.

🇺🇸 CIVICS: What does a mayor do?

Mayors are leaders in local government, although their exact powers differ from city to city. They may help set priorities, manage or oversee city operations, work with other elected officials, and represent the people they serve.

Local government is often the level of government we experience most directly — through streets, parks, sanitation, public safety, and other city services.

🌟 This Week’s Challenge: What is one local government service you notice in your community?

🌿 Grow food. Grow minds. Grow character.

🤔 DID YOU KNOW...?

🌻 Young sunflowers can follow the sun across the sky!

This movement is called heliotropism. As young plants grow, their stems help turn the flower heads from east to west during the day. Mature sunflowers usually settle facing east.

🌟 This Week’s Challenge: Notice where the sun is in the morning and again later in the day. How has its position changed?

🌿 Grow food. Grow minds. Grow character.
