We believed the housing industry could do better. So we did.

In the UK we face both a climate crisis and a housing shortage. Our mission is to deliver thousands of Better Than Net Zero Homes that prove sustainable living doesn’t mean compromising on comfort.

Designed and built to Passivhaus standards, our homes are highly insulated to ensure a low energy demand, with excellent ventilation for improved air quality, comfort and wellbeing. Thanks to our construction methods and carefully selected materials, a Greencore home achieves ultra-low embodied carbon during construction. Low energy demand and the use of renewable energy sources means all new Greencore homes are designed to be Net Zero carbon each year in occupation.

At Greencore Homes, we believe the most effective way to reduce the impact of running a home is to reduce the amount of energy it needs in the first place.

That’s why our solar panels are just one part of a whole-home approach to energy efficiency. High levels of insulation, triple glazing, airtight construction and an efficient heating and ventilation system all work together to reduce energy demand, while solar panels help generate electricity from a renewable source.

By generating your own electricity, you can reduce the amount of energy you need to buy from the grid, helping to lower your energy bills. Surplus electricity can also be exported back to the grid, potentially earning you money.

When paired with a battery, more of the electricity generated during the day can be stored and used when you need it, helping you make even better use of the energy your home produces.

It’s not simply about adding solar panels to a conventional home. It’s about designing the whole home to need less energy and then generating as much of that energy as possible from renewable sources.
