Windy weather in the west lead me to the Cairngorms.

A week of slowing down, having nice long evenings doing the square route of jack 💩

Everyday I worked with the weather to make the best of each day, seeing the world at its best at sunrise every morning was a must.

A full day spent on the Lochnagar mountains, a stunning 30km loop on the tops from dawn till dust.
👣
2 days in the Caledonian Pine Forests, hanging out with Crossbills, Crested Tits and Red Squirrels.
🦅
And a final morning on Cairn Gorm itself watching Ptarmigan, a mountain I've never had the chance to summit before, but it was so worth it.

The 2am alarm was worth it.
⛰️
Today @jack_waldie and I took on Sgorr Dhearg and Sgórr Dhónuill in Glencoe. We kicked things off at the base at 3am taking in the unreal sunrise as we climbed.

Today was simply wall to wall of smiling, laughing and being reminded of the overwhelming importance of feeling humbled by forces and by a landscape so much bigger than us and that deserves our respect at all times. 💚

Sgorr Bhan was our first summit of the day, not a munro but a very impressive peak, especially today.

The sun slowly lighting up the cloud before it popped out from behind the Mamores.

Come hang out with @greeneindy and I on the Isle of Mull at the end of August - limited space left 🦅✨

Last year we saw numerous otters, golden eagles, white-tailed eagles and hen harriers on our first day 🤯 not to mention to humpback and minke whales, too. It’s such a special place for wildlife - it keeps us coming back time and time again with even more excitement! Plus there will be some of the best cake you’ll ever eat (big statement, I know) 👀

There's something very special about the sea, it has the unrivalled power of taking your mind off things. It humbles you in the best possible way because you're constantly surrounded by and are at the mercy of forces SO much stronger than you are.
🌊
I work as a wildlife guide on the boat between March and October, and not gonna lie, its hard work, you can become very isolated and you miss out on a lot of life events back on dry land, but when you are surrounded by top quality people, great guests and great wildlife, there's few places I would rather be.

The shot of a lifetime !

On Sunday evening we witnessed the Mull mystery pod of Orca hunting a Common Dolphin off of Kerrera.

We are still waiting on an update from @hwdt_org for an ID match on the 6 individuals.

River secrets 🤫

3 hours I spent sat by a river, watching, listening and absorbing. The unfathomably beautiful white noise of a river is simply unrivalled in my mind. It cuts out all the messy background noise of your thoughts, but that noise also give you a little bit of freedom, to maybe, hum a tune, whistle a song, or mumble a few words of Harry Styles' latest album. Whichever you choose, no one can hear you over the sound of the river, you feel safe.

While I was on my riverside perch, I became pals with a pair of Dippers who were very busy collecting nesting material, it seemed to be the female doing all the hard work and the male following her around singing at the top of his tiny lungs, although it may not be the song of a Nightingale, it really punches over the sound of the river and can travel further than you think.

I watched as they flew back and forth between their nest and a patch of moss, and I got to know their favourite routes and short cuts until one of the birds abruptly stopped in front of me ans froze as a Sparrowhawk shot over, its mannequin challenge freeze frame is the first photo of the set. So although I was calm and relaxed, life is relentless for this little Dippers, but, they just get on with it... taken in Glen Nevis by @greeneindy

The government has finally launched its public consultation on hunting, and we must make sure it leads to real change.

The Hunting Act 2004 is not fit for purpose. Time and again, so-called trail hunting is used as a smokescreen for illegal hunting. It’s time for change.

Now is the time to speak up.

Join @greeneindy and use your voice for wildlife.

Let’s we can push for stronger laws that truly protect animals.

🚨 Join Megan McCubbin and Indy Kiemel-Greene this summer on the Isle of Mull as they take you on a tour of the island by land and sea this August/September. We will run two five day tours across the dates in late summer.

We'll be showing you Mull's key standout species such as both Golden and White Tailed Eagle, Otters, Dolphins, Minke Whales, Red Deer, but also some of the lesser known and maybe less appreciated wildlife residents on the island.

New Year on Arran 🌟
.
Often known as a mini Scotland, Arran has a lot going for it, the mountains, the moorland, amazing coastline, lovely communities, woodland and at this time of year, peace and silence. But yet its an island I hadn't been to!
🏝
Along with my good mate @greenfingeredgeorge and his parents as our support crew, we challenged ourselves to see as much of the island as possible, which included the outstanding mountain tops.
🏔
Eas Mor Library (Library in the woods) was one of my favourite visits. A beautiful little cabin built from storm felled timber and filled with notes from people who have visited, some wrote quotes, some tributes, sketches, jokes, or just signed their name.

We left a note, "comparison is the thief of joy" something I have to remind myself of, and its true.

And I learnt how to play scrabble...ish
