Hello world! 🗺️My name is Chili and I live in Switzerland with my family. I grew up moving around a lot, on paper I’m Swiss but at heart I’m a nomad.I care about sustainability, but I also care about balance. What I try to do is live as sustainable as possible, but I also allow myself leeway for fun. I honestly believe that if more people lived this way, the world would be a more environmentally friendly place. On this journey, I want to find ways to live greener, save money and have more freedom. Hence the name @greenersideup 💚I believe that greener living can make family life cheaper, one of the easiest ways is to consume less. Something I personally am working on 😄Follow me if you want to realistic Eco and budget tips for your family.#sustainableliving#sustainablefamily#budgetingmom#frugalfamily#lowwasteliving by @greenersideup

this is called a snowflake payment and it’s one of my favorite ways to pay off debt without feeling it ❄️ thanks to this i hope that we will be debt free in less than two years. 🙌the idea: every time a tiny bit of unexpected or leftover money shows up, you send it straight to debt.CHF 3 here. CHF 1.50 there. CHF 13 from returning something you didn’t need in the first place. none of it feels like a sacrifice. all of it chips away at the balance.this is what I do on top of our regular payments. it’s not dramatic. it works because it’s so small you never feel it. over time it becomes a whole payment you never planned for.the best part? it rewires how you think about spare change. it stops being “nothing” and starts being progress. now before I buy something I stop to think twice. did you already do this without knowing the name? or is this new? tell me 👇#snowflakepayments #debtpayoff #debtfreejourney #creditcarddebt #personalfinance by @greenersideup

CHF 0.40 iced coffee. made it myself. took it to the pool. no dramatic sacrifice. no suffering. just a small choice, repeated, that adds up.I’m not cutting coffee out of my life. I’m making it at home and putting the difference where it matters.sustainability and debt repayment have more in common than people think. both get better when you stop chasing perfection and start making small, repeatable swaps you’ll actually stick with. My coffee made at home was a sustainable choice and a debt conscious choice.what’s your version of this? the small thing you do that nobody sees but quietly adds up? 👇#debtpayoff #homemadecoffee #sustainableliving #everylittlebitcounts #debtfreejourney personalfinance swissfinance budgetfriendly moneytransparency sustainabilitymadeeasy creditcarddebt greenersideup by @greenersideup

I had a hard time saying it, but I finally managed, and in the end I kept the imperfect version 🤣That sentence applies to most everything I talk about on this page. It’s the essence of my page.Paying off debt: you don’t need the all or nothing mentality. You need one that you won’t quit in a month or two, one you can see yourself sticking with until the very end. This might not be the fastest route, but for some people it’s the only route, and that is more important than doing nothing. As for sustainability: you don’t need to go all in either, but how about switching one or two or a couple of animal based products out with plant based products? If everyone in the world did this that would be a huge change. Do swaps that you can do for a long time, change doesn’t happen overnight, it’s gradual. And don’t fear that you’re never allowed to eat meat again or buy something new.The same all or nothing lie keeps people stuck in both places. Overwhelmed, ashamed, and doing nothing instead of doing something small.Every little bit counts. For the debt and for the planet.Which one have you been told you need to go all in on, your debt or your sustainability? Or something else?PS: if you missed yesterday’s 25 seconds of me completely failing to say the sentence, go watch it. It’s funny. 😂#debtpayoff #sustainableliving #everylittlebitcounts #imperfection #sustainabilitymadeeasy by @greenersideup

The irony of this video is not lost on me 🤣Full video drops tomorrow, any idea what it could be about? Let me know in the comments and be sure to follow so you don’t miss it.Also, I dare you to repeat the word “version” multiple times and see if you don’t trip up on it as well 🙈#blooper #jjyapchallenge #debtfreejouney #sustainablelife #imperfectlyperfect Little hint, the video tomorrow is about what debt and sustainability have in common. 😉 by @greenersideup

5 figures invested. 5 figures in debt. Here’s why that’s not a contradiction.I have been investing long before I started thinking about becoming debt free seriously. My investments bring back more than my debt takes away. However, I am rapidly paying off our credit card debt, so the only debt that remains is low interest. Our investments will stay invested, as they are accruing interest, and we are on the greener side.#thisisreallife #investnow #debtfreedom #jjyapchallenge #firecommunity by @greenersideup

week two receipt 🧾 CHF 79.40 paid today, from your engagement last week 🙏🏽 remember, this is not financial advice, just what works for us.here’s how it works: you comment, share, repost, save, like and follow → I convert it into a real payment toward our debt. no gimmick. real numbers, real receipts, every week.the breakdown:🔁 35 shares🔖 8 saves💬 112 comments❤️ 180 likesand since we’re here, let me say the thing: I don’t believe in the “every $ to debt, nothing else” rule. I know the internet loves that approach. I think it’s exactly why most people quit before they finish. However, for this first debt, we are sending everything we can towards paying it off. The interest rates are around 13%, so that is more than we can make by investing our money.we already pay CHF 800/month toward a loan. CHF 1,100/month in taxes (and we should be paying more in order to catch up). that’s almost 2,000 gone before “extra” even exists. if we wait until the debt is at zero before we’re allowed to breathe, save for anything, or enjoy a single thing, we will burn out. and a burned-out plan is a dead plan. That’s basically what kept us from intensifying our debt payments, because we thought everything would have to go towards debt, rather than balance.so yes: credit card debt gets attacked hard. but I’m not pretending life stops while it happens. that’s not discipline. that’s punishment. and punishment doesn’t stick.the game continues! every meaningful comment on this video counts toward next week’s receipt. not just emojis (although I love those too! 🫪) tell me something real. the algorithm pushes real conversations further, which means more people see this, which means next week’s payment gets bigger. everyone wins.so: be honest, would you rather be debt-free with no savings, or have savings but still carry debt? 👇und für dSchwiizer: ja, jede Kommentar zählt. O dine. 🇨🇭#debtpayoff #debtfreejourney #creditcarddebt #payingoffdebt #personalfinance moneytransparency debtfreecommunity swissfinance moneygoals financialfreedomjourney budgetingtips debtfreegoals realtalkmoney secretdebtpayoff engagementgame couplesandmoney by @greenersideup

Day 14 of secretly speeding up our debt repayment… except 🤫 it’s not a secret anymore 😅I told him everything. the extra payments, the game…for two weeks i managed to keep it a secret with you guys. you commented, you shared, you played! and every single one of those counted toward a real payment.his reaction? honestly it was exactly why I married him. he’s in, fully. also he doesn’t really use social media so he’ll still be surprised here and there 😉nothing changes. same game. same receipts. the credit card debt is still the first target and it’s still going down. every comment on this video still counts. so tell me, did you think he’d react well, or were you nervous for me? 👇#debtfreejourney #debtpayoff #payingoffdebt #creditcarddebt #debtfreecommunity personalfinance moneytransparency swissfinance secretdebtpayoff couplesandmoney moneygoals financialfreedomjourney budgetingtips debtfreegoals realtalkmoney by @greenersideup

Save this for the day you’re ready to start tackling your debt. If today’s that day, step one might just take a couple of minutes.in debt and don’t know where to start? These four steps are super easy to follow and will guide you on your journey out of your debt. This isn’t financial advice, it’s just me sharing what worked for us.In our debt to pay back, I include our credit card, the taxes that we are behind on, and a loan we got in order to purchase the house.I haven’t included the mortgage, neither our car. Mortgage works a little differently in Switzerland, the goal is not to pay it off. And our car is leased and we can’t pay more than the monthly payments we already pay.#thisisreallife #debtfreeliving #getoutofdebt #jjyapchallenge #intentionalliving by @greenersideup
