All of these guest lecturers have so graciously offered to participate in this mastermind because they realize how important it is that we get this information out and into the hands of the veterinarians who need it! URGENT: CA AB2223 - Possible Ban on CA CBD Hemp Products in August 2024

PUT A STOP TO AB2223
If the governor signs the bill, it will have drastic repercussions for people and pets in CA, and a resultant ripple effect throughout the country. It will result in: 1) Full or Broad SpctrumHemp CBD for PETS and HUMANS will only be available at cannabis dispensaries 2) Dispensary products will be >5X the cost. Over 5 million human cannabis patients and thousands of veterinary patients will suffer.

Hey everyone! 🌟 Last weekend we had an amazing gathering. We - Lily, Trina, Magda, and Lindsey - had this little meetup at Urth Caffé, and wow, just wow! The food? Delicious. The teas? Heavenly. But the best part? The company, of course! 🍵🍰

So here’s the scoop: we’re all about that integrative vet life. Lily has a passion for oncology and keeping fur babies healthy from the get-go, Trina’s all in on cannabis therapy (yep, it’s a thing and it’s awesome!), Magda’s your gal for total wellness, and Lindsey gives all the fur babies special love at her housecall services. We’ve each found our own way to mix traditional and holistic care because we just knew there had to be more ways to help our furry friends. 🐾💕

We laughed, shared stories, and talked about our big dreams - like, really big. We’re talking expanding the whole integrative medicine scene, giving pet parents more options, and also tackling that nasty burnout and toxicity in our field. It’s all about making things better, for our patients and for us vets too.

While I was working @integrativepet this past Friday I met a special patient named Amber. She is 17 with arthritis and signs of dementia. I spoke with her owner about the potential benefits of cannabis to reduce inflammation, discomfort and improve her overall quality of life. Adding a holistic veterinary oncologist to my care team was NOT on my Bingo card for 2023. But, how lucky I am to have found Dr. Trina Hazzah (@greennileinc) and @integrativepet.

First off, to address the obvious questions: why do I need an oncologist and do I have cancer? Unfortunately, there is not a simple answer to those questions. I am lucky to be part of a clinical study with @petdxinc. The study is testing the optimal interval for having an OncoK9 test, a blood biopsy test that detects abnormal DNA released into circulation by cancer cells. OncoK9 can detect the presence of cancer cells, but cannot identify the type or location of cancer. In May, my OncoK9 test returned a result of cancer signal detected. 🙁 Diagnostic testing done since then under the guidance of @petdxinc oncologists has not yielded a definitive diagnosis. While the @petdxinc oncologists now want to wait, monitor and retest, my primary holistic vet has encouraged me to be more proactive since early detection and treatment are the best ways to manage cancer in pets.

Last week, I had a great visit with Dr. Hazzah, one of only about four holistic oncology veterinarians in the United States. She reviewed the reports from the prior diagnostic testing, drew some blood for additional testing, and is recommending more diagnostic testing.

Despite having the possibility of cancer looming over me, I am feeling fine and am continuing to live my best life. Long, healthy life is my mantra. I welcome pawsitive vibes, prayers, and good juju. ❤️
