An excellent day on Saturday at @riversedgerunningseries 8 hours is not my favorite time so I will be back next year.Ā Ā Ā

I made a mistake with my hydration pack (aka left it at home) so I ran the first 41 km and climbed 3000 feet with a 500 ml water bottle. (My back up) Soooo I had to live at each aid station. Woops. Yeah, not my best moment, but not my worst either.Ā  I feel thankful that @bumble.bri.92 brought me the bladder which we filled and then replenished my body with calories and electrolytes.Ā  Thanks @oddburgerfastfood for the tacos. Ā  At that point my legs turned back on and I finished the back 9 at warp speed. Which included crossing the North Saskatchewan River on foot twice, (no bridge).Ā  It was a blast!!Ā

I see why @riversedgerunningseries is a qualifier for UTMB.Ā  It's no joke.Ā  Totally doable but demanding. Ā  The climbing is relentless.Ā the winding trail is beautifully treacherous. It's a challenge you can get behind. I highly recommend it.Ā The set up and structure is pragmatic and the other runners are so happy to say hi. Good people.

I am glad that I stuck it out this season, especially after NUMEROUS issues. It feels really good to say, "that I got this one done", regardless of the time it took.

Thank you for everything @bumble.bri.92. ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø. I finished strong with your help. I love you. It was so good too see you at the end. It's the best part of finishing.

Thank you to the crew at @kinetic.living for saving my bacon at the 11 hour. @nat.nizzy @ericb.rmt @chloeb.rmt, @mattmohler.physio, and @drisaackonrad.chiro. (no back pain SI joint, THANK YOU)

Big ups to the @northsunultra crew for a killer race last weekend. Sold out show!! Way to go folks!

I was challenged and learned a lot. Next time I will do better.Ā
I finished about an hour better than my last ultra in Sept at the Grizzly, so I am happy.Ā

Big thanks to the following:
@bumble.bri.92 thank you for all the love and support. Ā  You started us on the road to plant based living, and it has complimented this sport. P.s. Sorry I always eat more of the cookies.

I have been working on my Canadian Citizenship in my spare time. Today, that came to fruition.

It feels very special to be a citizen of this beautiful country. I appreciate all that Canada has done for me and I look forward to taking an even bigger role in its progression and also doing what I can to give back.

As some of you know I was at the Canmore, Grizzly Ultra Marathon (50km) this weekend. To say it was challenging was an under statement. 7:43 was my time.

The sense of accomplishment is palpable. The Grizzly's hills are evil. I can tell you right now, having a good coach is priceless. Thank you Lauren @polarisathletics.

Thank you @o.totsam and @cthuloop_ for being at yet another race and helping me. Plus taking one for the team by sleeping on what I can only describe as hideaway bed from hell. Thanks guys. Love you.

Thank you @formhealth.ca and @kinetic.living for keeping me operational.

Thank you @robbiebalenger for your feedback. It was appreciated dude.

And then there is the lady of the hour. Or 7 hours and 43 min. @bumble.bri.92 . Where to begin with this one? My wife has a lot on her plate but for the last 7 months, she is always there asking me, " how did the run go?" "Please be safe." And my favorite (day before) "please don't get eaten by a bear. " she is taping things that don't smell good, washing things that don't smell good and dealing with my shitty demeanor, which doesn't smell good. Thank you Pisces. So much.

TRUST ME WHEN I THELL YOU, THAT WHEN THINGS GETS TOUGH, AND YOU'RE IN PAIN, SLEEP DEPRIVED AND OCCASIONALLY NOT SO FUN TO BE AROUND, YOUR NOT GOING TO LOOK BACK ON THIS AND THINK ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU SUFFERED. YOU WILL LOOK BACK AND WISH YOU TRIED HARDER TO BE BETTER, OR KEPT A CALMER HEAD. MAKE THE TIME COUNT. DON'T LET NEGATIVITY AND PAIN CALL THE SHOTS. PAIN IS SUBSERVIENT TO YOU, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. taken in Canmore, Alberta by @gregmarcil

I am brutal with social media so this post is late. I ran the North Sun Ultra Light 30km @northsunultra 2 weekends ago. It was my first Trail Race. I had fun and I learned a lot.
I had an issue with hydration but dedication and training pay off so I was able to push through get the job done. A few hours later I found myself thinking, "man, I miss being out there". šŸ˜‚

Thank you to Coach Lauren Andrews @polarisathletics for your support and tutelage. It's been good, Grizzly here we come.
@robbiebalenger - thanks again man. Huge help.
