I don't put much stock in classifiers, in fact I usually just shoot them at normal match speed, not trying to push. This one was no different, I just figured out a better way to shoot it.

I watched one shooter after another come into the middle position and shoot all 4 targets flat footed. Walking the stage, I figured out a way to shoot the middle array on the move and be able to transition directly to the left array without bringing the gun down. Thanks to @mbxextreme I was able to start with 25 rounds in the gun and skip the reload.

7.70 seconds, down 1 charlie and it was good for a 102% Grand Master score. My first GM score in Limited Optics and first time scoring over 100%.

Thank you to @manzanogunrunners for a great match. I chuckled when @_jakethehunter_209 said "Let's shoot some GM runs on the classifier" during his shooters meeting, but somehow I pulled it off. by @gregoryfiddes

Stage win from last weekends Bay Area Rifle Championship at @richmondaction Nearly 1 for 1 on steel and all alphas on the close targets secured a lot of points. Just two Charlie's on the far ones and narrowly avoided a No-Shoot.

This wasn't my best showing for BARC. Seven days straight on the range, including 3 days of setup prior to the staff match and an all day staff shoot with 12 stages was a test of endurance.

All said and done I finished 2nd in Tactical division and 20th overall, behind a stack of literal world class shooters, fighting their way to qualify for next year's Rifle World Shoot.

I shot a clean match with no mikes or no-shoots, just one procedural that I squarely earned. Far to many deltas, but those mini targets are challenging.

I'm greatful to have been pulled in to be Co-Match Director with Chance Landreneaux. Many discussions on stage design, weekly meetings, all the days of prep, and building culminated in one of the most challenging BARC matches I've ever shot and an event I'm truly proud of.

Thank you to @dkwan_shooting for pushing us and helping organize the effort, and @fistfulofbrass for all the behind the scenes work with sponsors, the match book, and wonderful cinematography, capturing the spirit of the match. Finally thank you to everyone who ROed and staffed, we truly couldn't have done it without you 🙏 by @gregoryfiddes

I let it rip at this weekends Super Summer Hoser match at @richmondaction this weekend. I had been feeling like I needed to shoot faster splits with the LO gun and this was the perfect opportunity to take the reigns off and unleash the beast.

I pushed hard on this stage and had the 2nd fastest time in LO, just 0.17 seconds behind the great and powerful @jeremyryanfit

The extension and push off the from bullet trap hurt my knee, so I didn't have the ability to move this aggressively on the other stages, but I kept up the shooting pace and unlocked another level of shooting ability with this gun.

Thank you to the wonderful @vathletic for filming. by @gregoryfiddes

When @concealedcameraman takes a sick photo of you at the @manzanogunrunners match, you're obligated to feature it, even if it's not your best stage. Thank you for the cool shots.

I started this stage off strong, running hard on a knee that still didn't feel great, and crushed the first two steel. I aimed hard where I needed to on the mini and head shots, let it rip where I could.

There was a tight spot for a reload and I just barely missed the magwell with the first attempt and then was a little behind the gun with the second attempt, sending both mags flying into the dirt 😢... I picked up the closer mag off the ground and luckily it didn't jam.

I finished strong, needing to lean on my bad knee to finish the stage, which is where the epic picture came from. I try not to "flamingo" as much as possible, but here it just had to happen.

Thanks to @vathletic for filming and her commentary and to Dave as RO. I shall endeavor to do better at the next one. by @gregoryfiddes

The Red Labor match at @richmondaction was a ton of fun. It's an excuse to dust off an oddball gun and shoot a match with it. Since Tony's Krink wasn't available to borrow (broken), I finally got to shoot a match with my Dad's Mini-14... And I probably won't do it again 😂 Several malfunctions and a giant rear peep sight with a tiny aperture made it really difficult to shoot the closer targets.

Fun fact: I contemplated shooting this rifle for my first Bay Are Rifle Championship in 2010, but with this thing shooting minute of watermelon at 100 yards, I didn't think it would perform well enough at 200, so I opted for an M1 Garand.

For this Red Labor match I channeled the A-Team, Miami Vice, and Magnum PI with the vintage collared shirt that was also my Dad's.

The fireballs 🔥 and a solid squad made the day fun. Thanks to @il_ardente_puma , @mama_bear_defense_llc and Aaron for filming me.

Congrats to @_ian_parker_ for winning the match and putting me at an embarrassing 15th place overall at 65% but I did win Nato Division, so that's solid. One of these years I'll shoot this match with a gun that works, but until then I'll enjoy the fireballs 🔥 and fun with good friends. by @gregoryfiddes

The @manzanogunrunners jungle run was legit! I shot Open Division in the PM and shot all 29 rounds out of my @mbxextreme big stick on this 26 round course. All 3 extras were on steel with the last two in the final position for a true picker factor ending. by @gregoryfiddes

When you're not sure you hit a target so you give it a good stare down before unloading... It's too late, just leave it.

In this case the Delta/Mike I called thankfully was a charlie. I really didn't see the dot at all on the second shot but was moving and transitioning before I could make it up. Always good to be lucky. by @gregoryfiddes

Tuesday I shot both @manzanogunrunners matches back to back. 10 stages on a warm (85ish) day in the south bay is a great challenge and I see it as good practice for all day majors. A great test of how well you're able to stay focused and execute.

I had some penalties in the morning match, pushing too hard on the classifier and then a mike on two stages, both on Tux targets. The second match I was out for redemption. Cleaned up those stages and finished strong.

I won Limited Optics division during my PM run and was 2nd overall behind @alex_7_kwok AM Open run. With the penalties, my AM Open run finished 4th in Open and 9th overall out of 77 shooters.

It was a great day out there with lots of lessions learned in the shooting, shenanigans in the downtime and good vibes always. Thanks to @_jakethehunter_209 , @a1ex_ath , @karenpow , @shakashell , @manzano.tactical and the rest of the crew for putting on such a good event. by @gregoryfiddes

It's not good when you start talking to yourself on a stage. I hung around for a 3rd shot on a far swinger just to shoot a Delta (I think). All the make ups on all the skunks, all needed. This stage was brutal and required every shot called. Incredible practice for that skill and being 100% focused.

Shout out to @_jakethehunter_209 for this diabolical stage design at @manzanogunrunners and thank you to @karenpow as camera woman. by @gregoryfiddes

Gear should never be the thing holding you back. I've had this odd problem with my holster interfering with the magazine release on odd positioned draws. It happens so infrequently I never revisited it to fix it until now. Hopefully this last tweak will fix it for good. by @gregoryfiddes
