Warm and Fuzzy Feelings is a fascinating snapshot of Seattle in 1993, released on 3:23 Reckerds, the label created through the Music & Video Business Department at the Art Institute of Seattle. There’s a great concept running through it too, with every track timed at 3:23, seemingly tying into the label name and possibly the Art Institute’s 2323 Elliott Avenue address.

There’s plenty to discover across the 19 tracks, from Maxi Badd’s “Feast in Me”, written by Tess Lotta, with Gretta Harley on vocals and guitar, Lotta on vocals and bass and Dave Parnes on drums. You can hear a short clip of the song on the next slide. Inflatable Soule’s “Lake City Way” brings another fascinating Seattle connection, with singer and guitarist Peter Cornell, brother of Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell. The Lemons’ “Keep Diggin’” is another standout, adding to a compilation that feels like a genuine document of the wider Seattle scene.

With Art Chantry credited for the design and thanks extending to names including C/Z Records and Daniel House, Warm and Fuzzy Feelings becomes more than an obscure compilation. It’s a little piece of Seattle music history, capturing the city’s independent spirit while giving students the chance to learn the record business by actually doing it.

Meet El Chapo Guapo (Chapo). Dean Martin is absolutely smitten. Dean wants to play with Chapo yesterday (when they met). But we wait. Thank you to Beth (Iggy’s other human mom) who found the post by Rosa and Radha looking to rehome Chapo. (RIP Iggy.)

Dean has been hanging on Chapo’s cage all day. Neither have eaten. Dean finally got hungry enough to go back in his cage and I closed the door. I opened the door to Chapos cage to see if he’s ready to come out. Rosa and Radha always left his doors open and he spent most of his days outside of the cage and mostly just slept and ate in his cage. But for now as he adapts and misses his old life his cage is a safe place. It’s predictable. We all can relate.

I’ll keep you posted. Chapo is churtling seemingly content. Oh and now he too is eating. Yay. by @grettahmettle

First I want to thank this handsome guy. I had an incredible birthday. (We celebrated later cuz of Glen’s work.)

@theglenlogan completely showered me in gifts and surprises.

We went on a bioluminescence kayak trip!!! OMG. It was a new moon, so dark, and there were stars in the sky and stars in the water.

I didn’t get a photo of the beautiful cake, or the puzzle sweater or the night vision head lamp. He also got me an annual subscription to Bird Conservation!

The next day he surprised me with seeing Christopher Nolan’s film, The Odyssey. I heard mixed reviews. I loved it.

Then dinner at a restaurant on the water in Bremerton.

(Also an elk visited me. And I joined a music jam in Brinnon today.)

Where do Pigeons go to sleep at night?

A handful of the same pigeons hang out all day on my deck. Disappear at night and are back in the morning.

Crows perform a choreographed exodus at dusk to hang together with their flock. I think Pigeons sleep in groups too.
