I wanted to thank everyone who commented and messaged and emailed about my last post. I’m out of hospital recovering after long-awaited mitral valve repair surgery. The messages were completely unexpected and both welcome and comforting at nerve wracking times.
.
I’m a bit battered and bruised and covered with healing incisions, stitches and huge parts where I was shaved, making me look like a mangy dog.
.
I felt nervous before and relieved now. It’ll be a few weeks before I’m up to speed again. The skills of the nurses in ICU and HDU and of the cardiac surgeons at Guys and St Thomas’s NHS Trust are immense. Thanks to them. Thanks also to @heartvalvevoice and @the_bhf for being such outstanding sources of information about heart problems. #cardiacsurgery taken in London, United Kingdom by @greyfoxstyle
