πŸ«‚See you later, Deja 🐈 . On May the 9th, 2026, my best friend ran home to the arms of Jesus all in her own time. Deja has lived a long and blessed 20 years; her first 10 unknown to me but what an honour these last 10 have been. To know, to love and be loved by such a faithful, compassionate cat. . I celebrate and thank the Lord for Deja. Ten years ago in May 2016, I was but a highschool girl struggling with depression so dark and clouded, those days almost became my last. I remember walking home one day, and this bounding kitty made her way toward me. And she came back every day since. Thank you Deja for allowing the Lord to use you, both in my life and the neighbors you ventured to. You nursed us to health and hope. You wandered the streets meowing door to door, payment for your services in a meal and warm company when your own home seemed questionably gone. One day collared, the next without. Thank you for holding on long and strong enough for our own home contracts to change that when you walked in, in December 2020, we gave you the Christmas Gift of your forever home to retire in πŸ’™ I remember the joy and how thankful you were that you wouldn't have to sleep another day outside, wary of bears, coyotes or other cats lol. Thank you for the five honoured years of taking care of you as you had me and my family. Thank you Jesus that you give every good and perfect gift and this treasure I will see again in Heaven come my own /proper/ time. Perhaps Deja will be younger, or perhaps just as I knew her. In the end it's still Deja and she is thriving in the new home on her new mission, Promoted to Glory. . God bless you, Grifflets. Thank you as well for loving her with me these 5 years πŸ’™πŸ«‚ These pieces in my painted style were very healing for me (both about Deja and art in general). And I'll note this is not supposed to be some proper poem or a poem at all in the slides- simply truth as I sat in my notes app and wrote. She came, she stayed, and she awaits. This isn't a loss. It's a victory in it's own way as Deja is thriving where she is. A new chapter dawns ahead. . by @griffinwriter

πŸ¦„ Kirin's Pure Flame πŸ‰ . Flat colour bust commission for my bestie, @that_bizarre_lioness !! Featuring both the original sketch from a sketch battle we did in December 2025 and the cleaned up version for the commission in September 2026. 🌟Starring the lovely Natsumi - Bizarre's Genshin OC who happens to be a Kirin raised in Liyue (amidst a boat load of other magnificent, heart wrenching lore between her and our other bestie :0). Thanks so much for commissioning me, bestie! . I've been wanting to make an oc for Genshin for some time, especially as all my besties have at least one. Yet I haven't had the slightest inspiration 😩 But I do enjoy playing (as many have seen on stories lol) πŸ˜… || Is there a game or media you've wanted to or have made an oc for? . πŸ¦ƒ Bless you all this Canadian Thanksgiving!! . by @griffinwriter

🎢✍️ Finding Inspiration 🎢 . Greyscale commission for Lupin on VGEN! This was a lot more detail than I usually do for greyscales, as I don't particularly provide backgrounds. Just the illusion of a scene. But I'm really pleased with the details of this sketch. They wanted a scene of thier oc, Lupin, writing music for his flute playing whilst gazing out the window. Twas an absolute honour and marked my very first vgen comm^^ . πŸ’¬ Let me know what you guys think!! ⚑ I have a wonderful but large project under the works, so commission availability is starting to slow down. You can see my carrd for more details if interested! . God bless you, grifflets! πŸ’™ . by @griffinwriter

🐝Morning O'🏑 [Swipe to see full image] . My second of six Art Fight attacks for this season. This is Biene! She belongs to @/autumnmasque (Art Fight, Cara) and was an absolute joy and peace to draw. Just look how cute she is πŸ₯ΊπŸ’™ Idk if I stated this goal of mine in prior posts or stories but I really wanted more pieces with scenic backgrounds and really enjoy making this one; utilizing brush in my Corel Painter Essentials 7 program but also one of @/devinellekurtz 's brush in CSP. πŸ’¬ Let me know what you think! Commissions remain open and soon to arrive in vgen so stay tuned~ Thank you so much for any and all support here and abroad! God bless you, Grifflets πŸ’™ . by @griffinwriter

πŸ”₯Onslaught of WildfireπŸ”₯ . A little ill timed with all the forest fires going on nearby but it /is/ the first Art Fight attack I had made in July. Hearth belongs to @ash_noff_arts and as a Rescue Bot, he is here to help! πŸš’ I almost considered drawing his whole team but lets imagine them offscreen as Hearth gives orders haha. I had so much fun with this piece, wanting to really push some of my background work and effects. I'm really pleased with this piece! Thank you again, Ash, for drawing my own rescue bot oc, Tetra, for me last year πŸ₯ΊπŸ’• Gave me great opportunity to draw your guy >:D . πŸ’¬ Let me know what you guys think! Every comment, like and share is greatly appreciated πŸ’™ Congrats to team comedy as well; considering the winner was announced yesterday. . God bless you, grifflets! πŸ’™πŸ’• . by @griffinwriter
