I am broken. My heart is deflated. But I’m hating myself trying to beg people to love something they won’t and that something is what I used to teach myself to love myself. I’m hating the thing that gives my life meaning because others don’t see it as worthy and I need to stop trying to make it worth anything. I’d rather go back to being alone and touching my paints while no one looked than knowing how many people see me and choose to leave me alone. I’d rather be alone than be made to feel so lonely. I have to find a job. I started to struggle and have the statistics on how little empathy exists. I was proven wrong. I can’t do this.

By Monday I will be forced to cancel my sip n paint since I have 0 sales or interest which is interesting compared to when I wasn’t the one posting about it (but still did all the work for it?). I will never be trying them again.
I will be doing my last commission (beyond the two I am finishing). I have one more event I’m vending at. I’m no longer going out to open mics. I will be working on ensuring other things could carry on (I.e. YSB, book club, etc) because I’ve been holding the weight of the world on my shoulders and shouting for support and this is the result of what ignorance does…I can be tore down actually…and all of the pain that I’ve been suffering through alone has finally collapsed me. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I really tried but as I’ve said, come December I will have no funds. No consistent income. I haven’t been able to find a job, and one that could also honor all the things I do. I would work at the plant shop for 29 hours at $15 just to support these events and my bills go be low cost. Now, when I say I need the support to survive — I see how much people wanted to support me vs step on what I do.

Please don’t step up now if you haven’t, because you won’t be able to keep up. I lost belief. I just want peace. ⛵️

I will be so sad today. I don’t want people to reach out making me try. I wanted your support when I needed it. I’ve been saying how lack of support is causing me to fail, and now I have. taken in Quiet by @gro_project_ro

Many of your community creatives wear multiple hats to provide the joy they provide. This isn’t to say the stuff I do for my passions is so unique to me, as I know so many folx who put everything into their work (many of whom I talk about in this video) — this is transparency to the behind the scenes of what I provide!

SEEKING VENDORS! 11/27 is Black Friday and I am honored to announce how I’ll be hosting an entire BIPOC creative centered event where you (yes, YOU!) can come out during the evening to support local makers by shopping with them for your holiday gifts!

While the event will host 7 creatives, I am only seeking 5 more for this one as I have 2 community members who have been patiently waiting to wow you with their wares when the event was unable to happen for October 🙏 I am currently seeking 5 vendors and will prioritize space for a licensed food vendor (I need you to know what you’re doing bc I know there is rules but I have not the know on the specifics).

BIPOC identifying individuals only need apply (all are welcome to attend)

Yes. This is an event where I’m asking you to not pay a vending fee to keep 100% of your sales while being added to a donation pool.

I am completing whatever events I can.
As long as the rsvps stick, I can do it.
I have lost that much faith in myself that I’m surprised to have sign ups, but I’m grateful.
Does this mean I change my mind about pulling out in December? Unfortunately, no.
It does mean I can mostly make rent to push through at least one more month.
.
And a reminder: you might not use social media the way others do but if you have friends and loved ones who can’t afford to market themselves and use platforms like this to do so, and you’re not playing your part in liking and sharing and spreading the word — you don’t really care about what they do.
.
If you knew me when I was posting and sharing about events beyond my own, it was before I realized I’m taking time out of my day for people who wouldn’t do the same. When I log into this media, it is to check in on what someone is doing. I will like and repost my friend’s stuff when I see it. I am consistent because it’s truly the least I could do for the ones in my community. I don’t just support the people I really like, I support people who are genuinely doing their best with what they have to survive.

I have to ask: do we really want community to thrive or just the people we can agree with and understand?

Change of plans for Chapters for Change 🥲☔️📚

We are rescheduling the book fundraiser to 10/25 from 12-4:30 PM — which just means more time to prep your shelves and figure out which gaps you can fill 😈📚

The Philly Pigeons Read will still be flocking today from 5 PM to 7 PM for our monthly book club meet-up. What are we reading? Whatever we want! We bring the books we read and share among community at the @underbitebites . It’s a great time to discover new authors and books, as well as meet people who really have a passion for stories and community. It’s low pressure to have to show up if you can’t always keep up, but we’re always excited to have you 🫶🦅

Genres for our 10/11 fundraiser (NEXT SUNDAY 😱) outside the @underbitebites from 12 PM to 4:30 PM are as follows:
~ Adult Fiction

~ children’s books

With 2+ years of plant care experience of maintaining over 100+ plants with more than 80 varieties, I’ve learned one major thing about plants: everyone loves them but no one wants to have to care for them.
I’ve serviced plants on-site for businesses through my previous shop experience and am more than equipped to help your indoor greenery thrive!

As the seasons change and your plants come inside, don’t forget to give them some pest management. If it feels like too much work, TransPlants is ready to man the helm for you! (Or rather, PLANT the helm! 🌱)
