Wearing the coach’s hat gives you a privilege the athlete one doesn’t.

Someone entrusting you with their goal.
Trusting your knowledge, your judgement and your belief in them.
Letting you into something they’ve worked months, sometimes years, for.

It’s an immeasurable honour.

Because coaching gives you this strange privilege of caring deeply about an outcome that isn’t yours.

You don’t lift the weight.
You don’t cross the finish line.
You don’t get the score beside your name.

But somehow, you feel every fucking bit of it.

The nerves. The doubt. The relief. The disappointment. The absolute elation.

And whether the day gives them the result they wanted or a lesson they didn’t, you get to stand beside them for it.

Their win will never be yours.
But getting to witness the person they become chasing it?

That’s one of the greatest wins coaching gives you. taken in Adapt CrossFit by @ground.control__

Happy Birthday to my big sister 🫶🏻

Somewhere between the Nintendo, mixtapes and nights out I got another decade with you!

You are creative, caring, loving and strong inside and out. I am lucky to share this life with you as my sister I couldn’t be more grateful.

Here’s to the memories we’ve made, the ones we’re still making, and everything that’s still to come. ❤️ by @ground.control__
