But wait, there’s more! Join us next Sunday, Oct 4th from 1-4pm at the Woodland Realm urban garden to learn the secret art of GIANT PUPPETRY! 📦🎭

Work with Master Puppeteer Brant Bollman of Uplifting Puppet Co. and discover how ordinary cardboard can be transformed into extraordinary larger-than-life characters.

You will:
• Create the head and hands for your own giant puppet
• Learn tricks and techniques to make your puppet wearable and movable
• Learn techniques for creating entire giant puppet bodies
• Explore movement and performance techniques that bring giant puppets to life

Bring a box. Bring your imagination. We’ll make something BIG.

And all just in time to see Bread & Puppet’s performance of “The Upside Down World Circus” at Riverview Park!

Link in bio to register. $25 covers all other materials (except your box), $20 for our Patreon supporters.

🪄Last Friday, dozens of volunteers came together to make our third Magic of the Night a success.

🤝Putting on an event like this takes help from community groups like @invest_dsm and @groupcreatives , our local representatives, artists like @upliftingpuppetco , our host @kingauphotography and more. We’re so grateful for their partnership!

🧬 But it also takes engaged members of our community. If you want Magic of the Night to continue to be a bright spot in the Drake Neighborhood, please join the Drake Neighborhood Association (https://dna.wildapricot.org/Become-A-Member) and be a part of something special in Des Moines.

📸And thank you to @jen_stillions_photography for the great pictures of the event! by @groupcreatives
