OFFICIALLY DONE WITH THIS B.S.

This week, I finished my Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Pre-Health and a certificate in Disability and Neurodivergence!

I am so eternally grateful for my time in Fort Collins, and the memories as well as life long friends I made! I honestly still can’t believe that it’s all over and I’m a CSU Alum. To everyone that was a part of my journey, thank you so much for making CSU my home for the last four years, I wouldn’t be the person I am now without each one of your touches of kindness!
For the people either currently in college or thinking about going, this thing is NOT easy! You will fail a class, you will feel very lonely, you will feel out of place, you will struggle with finishing. But luckily, you will work harder than you thought you could, you will grow into the person you’re meant to be, you will be able to call another town home, you will find your passion, you’ll probably learn more out of the classroom than you might in class, and, YOU WILL FINISH!!!

I am now (back) in school to become an SLPA and am working jobs to continue exploring my passion for the disabled and neurodivergent population! I’m proud of myself for finishing this huge accomplishment and the woman I’ve become because of it! A huge thank you again for everyone that crossed my path, you will always hold a special place in my heart.

I figured it was time to share GOOD TIMES on the internet lol so here goes:

Attending a big university is hard, like really hard, and it’s even harder to find a space to do something you love even if you’re not the best at it, and finding a true community to support you (trust me I tried). And sometimes that even means making that space and community for yourself, I was lucky enough to do just that in 2023 (my junior year of college)!
At the end of 2024, I had a reconstructive surgery on my left foot to deal with some past nerve damage (psa: fuq pointe + bunions) and quickly realized that this meant I might not be able to dance, or at the very least move the same during my senior year of college. At first I found myself in just about a daily spiral of anxiety, thinking about what I could be missing and how this would shape the end of my college experience. Thankfully, I have wonderful people in my life who (even if I didn’t like it at the time) pushed me to be active in my recovery and to not let the process of healing stop me from something so important in my life. As soon as winter break ended, I immediately started going to PT in between classes and stayed dedicated to this piece and the dancers that committed to it (while still in a boot lmao). By some miracle and a crazy amount of work, I was able to perform 4 months post-op and give my college dance journey the ending it deserved!

This piece is about realizing that yeah, the good times do end, but that can’t stop you from celebrating and enjoying them while they last, as well as the ability to stay present in them. Every time I watch this video or even hear the song it gives me immediate chills, Im so grateful to have had this opportunity to not only choreograph such an important piece, but to be able to share the message it holds!

@ramsinmotion is such a special group of people, they meet you where you’re at, celebrate your accomplishments and comfort you when you make mistakes to love and support you anyways! HUUUUGE thank you to this wonderful club and the people in it that will always have a special place in my heart!
