RESTRICTION.
noun - the limitation or control of someone or something.

I had the honor of debuting my new piece at the @4arts_exhibition on Friday. I want to thank EVERYONE who came out to support & I want to give a special thanks to @livinglamar & @jadedgem__ for putting this event together! Also want to thank @atithistudios studios for allowing me to bring my vision to life!

RESTRICTION to me embodied the feeling of being controlled for so long. It visually represents the feeling that haunts your soul internally as you aspire for more but your mind + body is caught up in the fear of the world that is around you. I was ridiculed for my mannerisms, my stance, my walk , my voice, my skin color, etc… People wanted me to be perfect for THEM from the beginning, they didn’t give a fuck about what I wanted & neither did I because I wasn’t taught to. This caused me to people please severely, it also made me believe that being my truest self wasn’t right. So, RESTRICTION is my past… & with the help of the DARKSIDE of @shopunstable, I am redefining my memories of my troubled past by creating art thru the lens of present day Griffin who has BLOOMED.
