Alumni Advisory Board Spotlight: Kelly Kloster Hon, BSME '11, MSME '12

Kelly Kloster Hon originally completed the German minor along with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering during her time at Georgia Tech, and has continued to stay involved by serving on the Alumni Advisory Board for the School of Modern Languages. In her career, Kelly has been driving critical business outcomes across consumer and medical products, most recently in global engineering leadership at Becton Dickinson.

When asked about the impact the School of Modern Languages has had on Kelly's career, she stated, "My experience in the School of Modern Languages, particularly through the German LBAT program and International Plan, broadened my curiosity about people, cultures, and the motivations behind their decisions. It strengthened my ability to lead with empathy, navigate diverse perspectives, and adapt across global teams. These are skills I continue to rely on as I collaborate with colleagues across functions and around the world."

This summer, LMC student Natalie Ferry has been documenting her experience in South Korea through the Feel the Beat program.

Her journey has included exploring the history and culture of Jeju Island, attending a Korean professional baseball game, visiting Korea’s Independence Hall, experiencing daily life at a Buddhist temple, and building connections with students at Namseoul University. Along the way, she has gained firsthand exposure to Korean traditions, cuisine, and cultural practices.

Natalie is currently in Jindo at the Jindo National Gugak Center learning traditional Korean drumming and string instruments. by @gt_languages
