If Brianne Of Tarth and Little finger (minus the conniving manipulation, obviously) had their own love story - this would be it 👀

Ok…, maybe not exactly, but I have no minds eye 👁️ and need a point of reference… and apparently this is what my brain latched onto 🤷🏼‍♀️

At some point though these characters became more than just words on a page (there is no imagery - it’s still lights out in the brain room 🫠) I was invested in their story, I wasn’t borrowing faces or mentally reaching for a reference point, I was in it.

And boy effing George, strap in because this is an absolute assault on your person - Grievous emotional harm feels like the appropriate label…

With the exception of the mystical events happening throughout the story, the dystopian world itself does not feel foreign. A lot of readers will be able to draw uncomfortable parallels between the world our characters are experiencing and our own. For that reason alone, it is a very worthwhile read.

But if you feel the need for a tragic love story and for a book to reach into your chest cavity and do some unsolicited rearranging of things… you’ve found it!

You’v also been warned. So remove the mascara before 70-80% by @gthqn

Framed my new precious. I also used the beautiful ribbon it came wrapped in to hold it in place. Thank you @qbdbooks #qbdsjm2024 by @gthqn
