📖 The Everlasting ✍🏼 Alix E Harrow 🏷️ Grevious emotional harm 🥹 📱 Read on Kindle App 📚 Goldsboro edition (missed the illumicrate) If Brianne Of Tarth and Little finger (minus the conniving manipulation, obviously) had their own love story - this would be it 👀 Ok…, maybe not exactly, but I have no minds eye 👁️ and need a point of reference… and apparently this is what my brain latched onto 🤷🏼‍♀️ At some point though these characters became more than just words on a page (there is no imagery - it’s still lights out in the brain room 🫠) I was invested in their story, I wasn’t borrowing faces or mentally reaching for a reference point, I was in it. And boy effing George, strap in because this is an absolute assault on your person - Grievous emotional harm feels like the appropriate label… With the exception of the mystical events happening throughout the story, the dystopian world itself does not feel foreign. A lot of readers will be able to draw uncomfortable parallels between the world our characters are experiencing and our own. For that reason alone, it is a very worthwhile read. But if you feel the need for a tragic love story and for a book to reach into your chest cavity and do some unsolicited rearranging of things… you’ve found it! You’v also been warned. So remove the mascara before 70-80%

Have a guess what the top answer was…😉 Happy Friday book friends! I hope you’re having a good week! It’s been a cold one here with a lot of rain the last few days. It’s been kind of perfect because I’ve stayed indoors, snuggled up on the couch to read. I prefer the cooler months over the summer ones.👌🏻 I’ve seen this fun post around and @cinnamonbunreads were chatting and the post sort of evolved from there! 💭 What are you hoping to read in July? • • • • • Bookstagram • Reader • Book lover • Bookish aesthetic • Romantasy • Romantasy bookstagram • Fantasy • Fantasy bookstagram • Romance • Romance Bookstagram • Australian Bookstagrammer • Booksta • Books • Winter • Rabbit • Netherland Dwarf • Nethie • Bunnies • Four Things • Whimsy • Studio Ghibli • #booklover #bookstagram #whimsy #bunniesofinstagram #fourthings

RECENTLY READ: A Dance of Lies by Brittney Arena Vasalie Moran was once King Illian’s most prized dancer…until he framed her for murder. After barely surviving two harrowing years in the palace dungeons: chained to the bare walls with only vermin for company, Vasalie is called before her king once more. There, Vasalie is offered a royal pardon—and her freedom—if she infiltrates the annual Gathering of Royals posing as a performer, in order to spy on the surrounding nations’ royal courts, and do King Illian’s nefarious bidding. Arena’s writing is absolutely beautiful. There’s a soft, sparkling whimsy to the prose that is reminiscent of Stephanie Garber, with some of the prettiest description and world building I’ve read in a long time. The way a cool breeze fresh off the back of a downpour was described was nothing short of invigorating, and I have a whole page of gorgeous quotes from the world-building chapters. Vasalie’s backstory was told so tenderly, and I felt truly connected to her as a character. I also adored the scheming and political intrigue—an absolute must-have for me in a fantasy. I would be remiss not to mention the beautiful descriptions of dance. Planning, choreographing, practicing, sewing costumes, and brainstorming props played a huge role in this story, and I’m a sucker for a book that romanticises and explores a specific hobby or vocation in slow, lyrical detail. The final quarter of the book is where the stakes truly ramped up, with the pacing increasing tenfold. While I enjoyed the reveals and how everything came together, I do wonder if this section could have benefited from slowing down just a touch. All in all, I had a fantastic time buddy reading this with @gthqn , and I’ll absolutely be picking up the sequel when it releases. 💃🏼-Mika Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️ (0.5) Edition pictured: @fairyloot Do we use hashtags in 2026? #bookstagram #romantasy #bookreviewers #aussiereader #perth #fairyloot #aussiebookstagrammer

Goodbye October. Hello November 📚🎧 What was your favourite read for October? 🏆 October threw a couple of life curve balls so I didn’t fully get through everything I had hoped to but I have to say I really enjoyed the books I did read! My favourite was two books which was the duology by Laura J Mayo because both books were a cosy and clever read. I’m hoping to get through the books I have listed for my November hopefuls but as it’s implied it’s hopefuls so we will see where things land by the end of the month! Either way it’s a lineup I’m looking forward to including a buddy read of Brimstone with @gthqn. 🥰 #kindle #read #reader #book #books #booksbooksbooks #fiction #fantasy #fantasybookstagram #romance #reading #booksta #bibliophile #booklover #bookish #TBR #ARCreader #instareads #readersofinsta #bookcommunity #netgalley #readingroundup #octoberreadingroundup
