📣 🥳 IT'S OFFICIAL!
She's an award-winning home 🎉🎉

Last weekend, The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) @asidcarolinas held their annual conference, where we took home The Platinum Award for Design Excellence. It's the highest honor we could receive, and it filled us with so much gratitude and joy to see this home celebrated.

A project that began as a life-long dream for our clients, this was the house they always wanted: perfect to carry them through retirement with ease, and lovingly designed for time with family, connection to the outdoors, and space to make memories (especially in the grandkids suite 🥰). They shared their vision with us, and we worked to bring their dream to life with intention, care, skill, and heart. This large-scale custom estate home design was a full team effort, including our amazing trade partners and @bosthomes. But the biggest thank you goes to our wonderful clients, for allowing us the privilege to create their dream.

So much love and thanks to our INCREDIBLE photographer @mb_productions_nc and Stylist @gthr.d team, who beautifully captured the soul of this home.

🤩👀 The cover of @designerstoday, featuring yours truly 🎉🎉

We always say that we want to let the work speak for itself, because that's where our heart is. As a team and a business, we put our soul into crafting homes that are just what our clients have always dreamed of- the spaces that bring them joy every day.

That said...it never hurts to see your work on the cover of one of your favorite national design magazines 😉

Seeing this on the stands all over High Point Furniture Market will be surreal (and exciting). We love this feature, because it speaks to who we are and why we do this work. And, it includes our most trusted team mantra: "Plan the work; work the plan" (trademark pending 😄). It's what brings dream homes like this one to life.

A HUGE thank you to two people who made this possible:
Our Photographer, @mb_productions_nc AND our Stylist, @gthr.d. They are AMAZING, and we celebrate their talent daily.

2 years. It was at the end of August 2 years ago that I made these photographs of a stunning McAlpine home. (Well actually 2-1/2 years cause we shot the interiors 6 months prior). BUT! This was well worth the wait to see it in @southernhomemag PRINT. 😎
HUGE congrats on this gorgeous spread @couturehaus , @ruftyhomes , and @mcalpinehouse on a gorgeous press feature.

Almost back to school time, and the room is ready 📚️

A new school year is one of our favorite times to refresh spaces, and nothing is more fun than creating a joyful spot for the littles to call their own. In this historic Chapel Hill home, the goal was creating a room that felt playful, while still aligning with the historic character of this gorgeous 100+ year old cottage.

Stately stripes and classic navy paired with fun touches, furry friends, and of course, a bit of love for the home team 🐏
It’s the mix of old and new, collected and playful that felt just right in this space.

Check out the story of this room at the link in bio ✨️

Heyyyyyyy! Bambi and butterflies, to winding roads and mountain top views, wild flowers, original art, sun kissed peaches, piles of pocket gems, my bedside buckets and the most amazing sticky toffee pudding all added up to a glorious shoot for a @davant.interiors @designmckay @artcellargallery in the mountains of Banner Elk!

By my side talented @mb_productions_nc and yes the good photos on this reel are from his iPhone not mine.

All put to a new tune by a group of kids I love like my own and their newest release - @tobaccoroad.band “Let Me Down Easy”

Cannot wait to see the final gallery of this mountain retreat! taken in Banner Elk, North Carolina by @gthr.d

She's HERE 🙌 😍
We have been waiting until we could share this home with you, and TODAY is the day! 🎉🎉

This custom build was created and designed with intention from the ground up. Deeply personal in every last detail, it was a dream home come to life. A true collaboration between this client and our team, the goal was to create a home that was all about joy, celebration, and family. We are so proud to share it with you.

Situated on a scenic lakeside property in Durham, this home was made for celebration, family, and enjoying life in the everyday. Ready for entertaining, it features a fully open flow from indoor to multiple outdoor living and dining spaces, equipped with an all-seasons living/dining room, a full outdoor kitchen, and even family pizza-making station by the pool. It was also designed specifically to allow for multiple generations to gather together, including comfortable guest quarters and a spectacular grandkids room (it's the sweetest, and we can't wait to show you 💗)

Look out for more on our socials, as well as the full project coming soon to the porfolio page on our website.

A HUGE thank-you to this incredibly talented pair for making these images possible:

After a house literally stuffed full of all our favorite people for the 4th - I sure would love to be washing the mountains of towels and sheets in this beautiful laundry designed by @kindredinteriorstudios and captured by @abigailjacksonphoto . Styling by @gthr.d

A beautiful and functional laundry room IS possible! Swipe to see for yourself 🤍

From the wire front drying closet to the custom cabinetry, to the steam closet and star-cross tile… this space was designed to be just as beautiful as it is hardworking, and we think it shows in every single detail.

Just like that, laundry day doesn’t sound so bad! 😉🧺

Cozy Cashiers living room nestled in the North Carolina mountains. We worked closely with the homeowners to restore the warmth and character that had been lost during a previous renovation on the cottage. Antique furnishings sourced throughout the region are layered with richly patterned rugs and textiles, complementing the family’s Southern art collection.
