Just wanted to say un dångkulu na si Yu’us Ma’åsi to Uncle Manny for this large print of the iconic photo he captured when Guåhan hosted the Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture in 2016 - we’re so honored to put it up in Falina June’s nursery so she can fall asleep with the canoes 😴

Falina June Perez Gutierrez, born June 24, 5lb 13oz and rapidly expanding. 🥰 Falina is the Chamorro word for “mast” on a traditional sailing canoe 🌬️🌊 June is Freddie’s grandma’s name, who shares a birthday with both me and my great grandma.

Our next Producer, Freddie Gutierrez, hardly needs an introduction as he's been writing comedy and for television since ever since!

Freddie, of the Gutierrez Cueto, Berah, and Fungo clans, is Chamoru from the island of Guam, and being a military brat, he’s lived all over the world. In 1999, he sold his first screenplay to MGM Studios, and his professional writing career started. Since then, he’s written for Eddie Murphy, Kevin Hart, Snoop Dog, Method Man, and Red Man. He’s written on Nickelodeon, Disney, and Cartoon Network. In 2021, he also wrote a script for Santiago of the Seas for Nick Jr., which was the first show in TV history to have ancient Chamoru spoken on TV.

Freddie has been helping to shape the film's script, and his experience makes sure this story will include those little touches to make it real and authentically Chamoru. by @guamro

Had a great time celebrating my uncle Freddie and his new wife, Sophia! I was honored to make this cake for them and celebrate with the family ! I made a tropical themed cake, with a coconut base and a mango curd in between the layers, paired with a light coconut buttercream. It had a perfect amount of sweetness and the mango paired beautifully with the coconut! So so happy everyone enjoyed it ❤️ This was my best cake yet! Congratulations @sophs_chill and @guamro !!!!!
