2025 IPF junior Worlds championships.

Not my best but for how rough this prep was I am very happy with how I showed up. Spent most of my recent training weeks trying to come back from back pain that hindered my training for a WHILE.

Squats: 270/595, squats were unfortunately not fully back yet but still happy with how it went for my recent weeks of training.

Bench: 132.5/291, got gifted my 2nd attempt with my glutes rising. Very lucky that it passed lol. 2.5 meet PR from my 83kg meets, 2.5 under when I competed as a super light 93. Very disappointed with bench considering I was going good recently and hit a solid comp standard 142.5 in the gym but shit happens. Gotta be better.

Deadlift: 302.5/666, dropped the bar too early on my opener. We opted to retake to secure in a total. Jumped 37.5 for my third and managed a nice 2.5kg meets PR, veryy happy with how deadlifts showed up, strongest I have felt since nationals.

705 total. (-10) (7/9)
11th place in the world. Not too bad. Need to improve a lot more to try and get back on this platform next year. Excited for nationals, time to train my ass off and show up stronger than ever. Must give the people the cloggy show they deserve

Massive thank you to team Canada for the cheering and for the wonderful handling by @ryan.fowler1 @danii_cbb @jimmykwillard

2025 National Champion 🥇

715@81.83
99.7GL points (im washed)

285/628 Squat (+11.5kg)
Very happy about squats, the good old predictable cloggy peak from a grinder 4 weeks out to the same but with room on meet day. 11.5kg PR and new provincial squat record.

130/286 Bench (-5kg)
was just a bit too much for the day considering how i executed, felt strong but not strong enough ( quite funny cause its so little weight compared to the other lifters😭😭)

300/660 Deadlifts (Ties meet PR)
Felt superr good, 2nd pull was enough to secure me the win so i had some fun with a yolo deadlift attempt at 315/694 at the end.

Congrats to all the competitors, not the battle we were all expecting but its how life goes, lets run it up in 2026 and bump those numbers up.

Thank you @anton_lin_2 for the wonderful handling, great calls and great experience, highly recommend this man if you guys need handling. Love you anton you did amazing thank you so much again.

Thank you to @alyssia_pwr for being the most supportive girlfriend and screaming at the top of her lungs to hype me up despite herself stepping on the platform only a couple of hours later. I love you❤️

Thank you to all my close friends and everyone who have been pushing me and believing in me. I love you guys and i will keep showing up for you guys, the cloggyshow must go on.

I know i can and i must do better. Time to improve much more and give a good show at worlds in Costa Rica

DO NOT take @zach_dub3 ‘s smelling salts, shit blew my brain up. Forgot everything I know and just relied on the hype lmao

Stance was much wider than usual but a PR is a PR.

2.5kg PR, ready for 295.5 on meet day.

Thank you boys for the hype and keeping me safe

Failed it on the first try due to a technical mistake. Locked in on the 2nd try. 5kg under the national squat record. Need to make that shit happen at provs.

5kg ATPR.

4.5kg over the provincial junior squat record

Feels soooo good to be healthy again and hitting PRs on squats. Truly blessed.

Pain is complex. Most of the times managing pain requires more than just ignoring it and pushing through or taking time off. Understand the problem, modify what hurts, keep moving as much as you can, and progressively rebuild capacity / tolerance to what hurts. by @guimont_83

Block recap

Squats: 270x2. (5kg double PR)

Bench: 146.5 (1.5kg PR (forced it))

Dead: 300. Got too silly and failed 315 for what would have been a 5kg PR.
290x3 for a 5kg PR on triples on backdowns

Total: 716.5

Need to lock in even harder and make 315+ happen soon.

5kg double PR. Should have fucked around and loaded the collars. Forcing a big single in the next few blocks. Gotta silly maxxx.

Solid bench 2.5 under my ATPR, silly maxxxxing and loading 147.5 on primary (forcing it)

Ben came to me with a herniated disc, intense back pain, and a 462.5kg total.
2 years later:
175 → 235kg Squat
97.5 → 147.5kg Bench
185 → 250kg Deadlift
462.5 → 632.5kg Total
The biggest lesson?
Programming trends are great starting points but not rules.
Once we stopped trying to make Ben fit the typical 59kg lifter guideline and started building around his actual training response, progress became faster, more predictable, and pain-free.
Huge thanks to @bentren66 for trusting the process.
The best programming isn’t the most impressive.
It’s the one the athlete can consistently adapt to. by @guimont_83
