What better way to warm our new home than having a dance with you all?

Join us at our new @rikota.studio store in Marrickville on Saturday (May 3) for a little housewarming get-together. We’ll be there from 2PM–10PM, with an all-local lineup of artists and friends: Folie, Kuta @anthonyc._, @mazzacles, @tsura.feed & the fanático crew.

It’s free, BYO, and our friends at @gula_au are bringing a food stall—so come hungry. Of course, the store will be open for a few hours—welcome to dig.

Thanks to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far. We can’t wait to share this new chapter with you—bring a friend or come solo, we’d love to see you either way.

Szechuan pepper is a berry originally from China. This little berry is packed with citrus and floral notes with a distinctive tingly and numbing effect when you eat it due to the presence of a molecule called hydroxy-alpha-sanshool.

That tingly and numbing effect can also be found in Japanese Sansho pepper and, here in Australia, in the Tasmanian pepperberry! 🤓

I love Szechuan pepper, so I decided to combine it with my 3 years fermented honey and I’m obsessed.

Last Saturday’s event, SARAO, blew our minds!
We are so beyond elated at the efforts and energy that went in to pull this off. Thank you to one and all for showing your support and trusting us in this little celebration of all things MORAL LALA & GULA. The food was out of control, the music next level. We honestly can’t wait to do it all again very soon!

Thank you @aniphoebe for your incredible selections and for your beautiful energy over the entire night.

A very special thanks to @marinmori, @gabirobat & @dr.evilphotography for pitching in and going above and beyond to make the night that extra bit special.

MORAL LAXA x GULA presents: SARAO

DINNER + FIESTA:

The collaboration that we have been anticipating for some time now!

Festivities will kick off with a soulful culinary journey accompanied by selections from the usual suspects from Moral Laxa and Gula, soundtracking the night.

If that hasn't tickled your taste buds yet, to top it off, joining us is special guest and @badtimesdisco founder, @aniphoebe.

Born in New York City, and currently living in Hong Kong, Ani draws from cosmic synth, breaks, old school hip-hop, balearic and wavy disco and also leans towards the weird and oddball side of dance and electronic music. Her monthly show, Parallel Worlds on The Lot Radio is dedicated to underground music scenes, collectives and parties around the world.

A limited amount of tickets are available (which include dinner and fiesta), so be sure to jump on this quickly.

Vegetarians and vegans catered for.
