I dont think this photo ever made it to instagram so i thought I'd pop it up. A pair of young grey falcons managed to take this mulga parrot close to the ground. A sight I will never forget. July 2021 by @gusnewey76

It's dam hard getting a good photo of an Australian Hobby at full tilt! I remember a certain f grade Australian celebrity pretending one of our bird show hobbies was a wild one and posting pictures of it on their Instagram back in the day 😅. To be fair it was hard enough photographing val @cam__candy the bird was a weapon. Later on we proved a hobby (the fastest accurate recording for this species on record most likely 🤔) can fly at LEAST 161kmh when our little male hobby Malcom was ripping around the arena. He wasn't even chasing prey! 200kmh+ is a certainty...throw in the fact they are more manoeuvrable than a Peregrine it's unbelievable how under rated these little gems are. This photo was taken in the Tanami desert during a budgie watching weekend. What great times by @gusnewey76

We are staying in the beautiful little town of Newell Beach (just north of Port Douglas) while we look for a block up here. The birding is great in town, about 30 very chill Red tailed black-cockatoos feeding on macadamia nuts every morning. by @gusnewey76

A short but enjoyable chapter at @warrawong_wildlife_sanctuary ends today. It's been a good experience setting up a bird of prey show here 😁. We head off to NQ on Friday!! by @gusnewey76
