After 11 wonderful years performing as Acid Tongue, I’ve decided to finally close this chapter in my life. So it goes. I’ve been fortunate enough to record and tour with dozens of brilliant musicians, creating an ever-evolving sound and live experience. We’ve release five albums, four EPs, and performed in 22 countries. We played to rooms of 6 people, and to festival crowds of 6,000. And we put the same energy into every show.

My friend Ian and I started this band in my old Seattle basement. It was halftime during Super Bowl XLIX and we wanted to jam and try something different. Our first EP came out a few months later and we were traveling abroad within a year. I wrote countless songs about romance, dreams, death and drug use, reflecting on many complicated themes that have defined my life over the past two decades. It has been an incredible outlet for the joy and pain I’ve experienced.

I’ll be pursuing new projects for my creativity. Different mediums and new experiences. I will not stop releasing music. Expect some songs under my own name in the coming year, maybe I’ll form another project down the road…

I’ll be performing my final show as Acid Tongue on Friday, September 11th at @thechapelsf with an all star band of my friends from LA & Tijuana. Our friends @theband_dammadamma will be opening. Ticket link in bio!

Thank you to all the fans, promoters, labels and musicians that have made Acid Tongue what it is today. Thanks to Ian for starting something really cool with me when we were a couple of clueless twenty-somethings. Thanks for listening, everybody.

Acid Tongue is no more.
On September 11th 2026 at The Chapel, San Francisco’s own @guykeltner let the sunset on @acidtongue with a celebration that literally ended in fire with a room full of love.

Cheers to the next chapter! taken in The Chapel by @guykeltner

I keep saying it, the band is 100% ending for real, but it’s been such a beautiful adventure with so many amazing people. There would be no acid tongue without a gigantic community of people that made this band and all of our music possible. It’s an impossible thing to quantify, the value of community, but it’s meant everything for the art we’ve created. There have been some incredible tours, across more countries than we ever expected. There have been some tough lessons learned. And the time we spent in the studio, creating the foundation for this band, I will always remember the twists and turns we took fleshing out these songs into what we hear today.

Our farewell show is this Friday at @thechapelsf and in the blink of an eye, acid tongue will be a distant memory. We look forward to seeing some old friends and fans at this show, and there’s a link in our bio for tickets if you wish to trek out and say goodbye.

Thanks to everyone that touched and shaped and played with and recorded and housed and fed and cared for this band. ❤️ by @guykeltner

Here I am back in SF. This whole acid tongue thing ends 2 weeks from today at @thechapelsf & then I take a deep breath and say, “well, that was fun!” Most of the time, at least. I was born here way back in the late 80s, before all the billboards advertised AI and programmer lingo and global solutions or whatever. It’s still pretty. It’s still busy. And now I get to lay my project to rest here and have one last big party with my friends. taken in Fairmont San Francisco by @guykeltner

Surprise! Our final album, “Live From Binic”, drops on August 28th on all platforms. This new record captures one of our all time favorite sets at @binicfolksbluesfestival last year in France. Big thanks to their team and our label @beast_records_official for making all of this possible. Oh yea! I did this children’s artwork myself. The album was mixed by our beautiful bassist @_car_mello & mastered by @adrianoogiannini ❤️ by @guykeltner
