I’ve decided to declutter the belief that exercise only matters to me if I’m working towards something extreme.

In my adult life, exercise meant working towards something big: making the varsity basketball team in university, running a 10k, half-marathon, full marathon, getting my black belt in Krav Maga…

For the last six months I’ve been working out without a specific goal or challenge. I just want to feel stronger and look my best.

I hate to report: consistency works. But it’s only worked this time because I actually like the workouts and they’re sustainable for this season of my life.

To my all or nothing comrades… if it’s not working for you… I invite you to join me down a new path.

You do have to drop the thrill of pushing yourself to a new dimension, but you may start to feel a deep satisfaction and realization that each workout is the reward.

Treat yourself 🤝🫯 Decluttering.

I like these six questions from @theminimalists when considering buying something non-essential:

1. Who am I buying this for? (Pure intention of buying for you, not impressing others)
2. Will this add value to my life?
3. Can I afford it?
4. Is this the best use of this money? (Obviously not 100% best use, but a good use 🙊)
5. What’s the actual cost? (you have to manage inventory)
6. Would the healthiest version of me buy this?

When I let stress get to me, I go to extremes. Tonight there were two choices: workout at night or 🍻.

I like this definition of clutter: stuff that’s in the way.

I recently bought two of these cups from a recommendation for a co-worker.

It’s from the Dollar Store. Stainless steel. Dishwasher safe. Seemed perfect… as I wanted to transition away from plastic cups.

After using a few times, I realize it’s not for me…as there’s four pieces to it, and difficult to clean.

It quickly became clutter. And I held onto it because I just bought it, I want to love it, and I actually don’t know the proper way to dispose of it.

Although it seems small, I’m dealing with it today (I can recycle most of it) and won’t have the guilt every time I open that drawer.
