Eight years ago, this was my mindset on relationships + love. No wonder I couldn’t meet my husband 😅

This weekend I celebrate my one year wedding anniversary, seven years together with Josh.

Watch or listen to the full story on how I found that elusive love of my life tomorrow on my podcast ‘Awesome Living’ (live at 7am on YouTube + podcast platforms)

Clip is from the awesome @valentevariety 💫
Also, the tone shift in these two clips is sending me 🤣🤣🤣

Today is my birthday 🥳🎉 🩷💫💜🧁🤩 Celebrating myself by posting my best hair day of the year 😁💁‍♀️

This has been a glorious year in so many ways.

A growing family, a slower and gentler pace of living, new creative endeavours, more quality time with family and friends, and I’ve had the time to appreciate it all 🩷

Life continues to get better and better. Excited to see what unfolds in the next 365 💫

My heart is still so full after @iamjamgamble’s third annual Healed Hearts Empowered Voices this past week. After working with Jam for more than three years, I finally got to see her speak in person this year, but seeing her in her element during this event was something extra special. ✨🫶🎤

The feeling of community and support and friendship at this event was next level. I loved meeting folks who came together as a group (or even on a bus - shoutout HAMILTON) and also seeing the new connections that were made with folks who came solo or made new pals at their tables.

The speakers dropped gem after gem, with conversations I didn’t want to end. Jam’s masterclass was powerful. The vendor market was fantastic and I left with a bunch of new goodies for me & for gifts. The music of Mama G was epic.

I loved meeting the incredible people from the Slay the Mic community, and other important people in Jam’s life. Thank you to everyone who came and said hi!!

In addition to helping behind the scenes with the event, I got to be the emcee(!!) It happened because I had a dream one night that I was the MC and told Jam, and she decided that was a great idea. For the Ultimate Mic Slayer to pass you the mic is a pretty incredible honour, and one I didn’t take lightly. It required some next level multi tasking, but I kept us moving and on track, and after like 2 mins of nerves at the beginning I got to enjoy myself.

Truly an outstanding evening and one that I won’t forget for a long time.
Jam, I’m so proud of you. Please rest.

I’m a late bloomer when it comes to driving a car. I got my license earlier this year, however our family car was a stick shift/manual.

I figured it would be a minor annoyance at first, but I’d learn it and move on.

WRONG.

After *many* months of stalling. Chugging. Rage. Fleeting joy when it’d get it. Breakdowns, trying many different strategies… I had to admit to myself: this is not for me.

Admitting that was a breakthrough in itself as I was the kind of person who doesn’t quit.

Quitting in this case was absolute liberation.

We just got the new car last week (practically the exact same car, only automatic)…. And this is me on Cloud 9 in the Wal-Mart parking lot. I later ran an errand at Canadian Tire and a woman randomly said to me, ‘Wow… you look happy!’ I wanted to say, ‘Ma’am… it’s true because I can driiiiiiiive!!!!’

I have so much appreciation for the ability and freedom to drive. It’s a true privilege.

I did have a baby, and got married this year… but not gonna lie this is competing for the top experience of the year 🤣🤣🤣🛞🛞🛞🩷🩷🩷

Your frequency creates your boundaries.

This idea feels ahead of its time and perhaps a radical concept.

You can still have preferences (I.e. saying no to a request)… but you don’t have to deploy willpower and create rules with people in your life.

Author @pennpeirce talks more about this and more on intuition on a recent podcast episode (link in bio). It’s a GOOD one ✨
