A little piece of my burlesque journey so far!! 🥹💖
Sometimes we get older and start thinking it’s too late to try something new. And if you know me, you know Gwyn has plenty of hobbies 😂 and this one was way out of my comfort zone. I have zero dance experience, so taking @daphnemoonburlesque’s Moon Gem 101 workshop was a huge leap for me.

I’m so proud of myself for sticking with it these last four months and getting to perform at a sold-out show! 🌙✨

Big thank you to my dance instructor @daphnemoonburlesque for being the best momma gem 💎
And to @scarletvonpuss for inspiring me to take the plunge!

Sobriety looks different for everyone.

For me, the beginning was uncomfortable, social events, shows, even casual hangouts felt impossible without a drink in my hand because alcohol is just… expected.

What started as a one-year commitment turned into a life I’m actually present for. And I’m grateful it stuck.

Today marks 1 year since I took my very first dance class!

It all started when @scarletvonpuss and I were chatting and she was talking about burlesque and invited me to go to a class. My first response was “I don’t really dance”. Crazy to think I said and thought that at one point. She then invited me to go to one of the shows she was performing. My first burlesque show I’ve ever seen was @showmeyourkitties_cabaret April 2025 show. I was in such awe of all of the beautiful ladies and seeing my friend Scarlet in her element.
Seeing the way the audience so much energy and cheers and seeing have so much fun doing it!!

One year ago today I was at work talking casually with my boss who mentioned he used to do salsa classes all the time and how he misses it, and I thought to myself maybe I should try doing that burlesque class that Scarlet was telling me about. That class was @imdaphnemoon Monday class!
At the time my self esteem was in the dumps and I did not feel comfortable with my body. For the first 3 months I was REAAALLLYYY bad at it but I wanted to stick with it and get better at it!

One year ago I would have never guessed that in one year I would have already performed 9 shows. The experience of doing burlesque for one year has boosted my confidence and that confidence leaked into all aspects of my daily life.

Thank you Scarlet Von Puss for inspiring me and introducing me to this world.💗

1. Renaissance fair

5. Being a stage kitten at The Stray Theater with @calamity.ray @thejewelboxcabaret please go give them a follow!
6. Rollerskating in between takes as a background actor for a TV show coming out in December👀

I got my first pinup style photoshoot done by @vanitylacephotography 😍😍
This was an extremely beautiful and surprisingly healing photoshoot we did.

Two years ago I got fired from my corporate job… and now I’m a showgirl 💃🏻✨

Last week I started my act in a business suit and ended it as a showgirl, a transformation that felt a little too real.

Somewhere along the way I stopped measuring my own worth by a job title and started becoming a more confident, fearless version of myself. A woman who isn’t afraid to start over and try something completely new.

This was one of the best nights of my life 🥹

I’m so grateful I got to share the stage with so many talented women and watch their creativity shine ✨

Thank you @daphnemoonofficial , you truly changed my life. I’m so honored to be a Moon Gem 🌜💎
