An upmarket home gym design and build, done properly. 💪

This 70m² private gym was designed and installed by Gym Concepts for a client who wanted a genuinely upmarket training space at home.

We worked with the client from the ground up: planning the layout, specifying the right equipment mix for how they actually train, then supplying and installing everything — flooring included.

Inside this build:
👉 SportsArt elliptical + recumbent bike
👉 Concept2 rower + SkiErg
👉 AlphaState single-station rig with bench, barbell and weight plates
👉 AlphaState pilates reformer
👉 SportsArt selectorised strength equipment

A project of this scope can sit just under the R1 million mark once you factor in premium equipment. Ultimately, the real value is a space that's actually built for how the client trains, and that adds real value to the home.

Thinking about a home gym build or upgrade? This is exactly the kind of project Gym Concepts specialises in — from concept and layout to full installation.

13 days out vs. 1 day to go. 👀

When we filmed this, Gardens was still a work in progress. Equipment was arriving, racks were going up, bathrooms were being finished and Seb was apparently planning to test the limits of the sauna.

A lot can change in 13 days.

Tomorrow, we finally get to show you what it all became.

Horizen Gardens opens tomorrow!

One rig, so many training options. This functional training rig at Stellenbosch High is a great example of the value of a well-planned rig setup. Big teams can train in one space, with access to a variety of strength and conditioning options, based on the attachments and accessories.

From layout and components to the full installation, it's exactly the kind of project we love getting right.

Planning a rig for your school or facility? We've got you covered, from concept to installation.

GROUND. was never meant to be just a gym…

I wanted one space where you could train hard, recover properly, slow down, grab a coffee, get some work done, meet people and actually enjoy spending time here.

A place for:

Strength training.
Functional fitness.
Pilates.
Yoga.
Rebounding.
Open gym.
Saunas.
Ice baths.
Compression recovery.
Sports massage.
IV lounge.
Coffee.
Smoothies.
Work space.
Events.
Run clubs.
Challenges.
And most importantly, community.

You can come in for a workout and end up staying for a coffee. You can push yourself in a class, jump into an ice bath afterwards and sit outside with friends.

That was always the vision.

Not another place you simply check into, train and leave.

I wanted to build somewhere people actually want to be.

Movement. Recovery. Community.

That’s GROUND. taken in Stellenbosch, Western Cape by @gymconcepts
