Another amazing Grace event in the books! 💕 I always love seeing people get together for a great workout, a little shopping, lots of fun, and most importantly, a cause that really matters. I love watching everyone show up, give the workout a try, support the local businesses, and just enjoy being part of something bigger. Whether you came to sweat, shop, donate, or cheer everyone on, you helped make the day a success! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported Pink Ribbon Good, an incredible organization doing important work for individuals and families impacted by breast and gynecological cancers. Events like this are such a great reminder of what makes our community so special. We can have fun, get a little fitness in, and make a difference at the same time. 💗 Already looking forward to the next one! ⚡️ #builtbyborda #gracewithfriends by @gymjen99
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and while I think it’s incredibly important to bring attention to breast cancer, I also think it’s an opportunity to have a bigger conversation about women’s health. As a physical therapist, I get to work with a lot of young female athletes, but I also get the opportunity to be around so many amazing moms and women in our community. And the older I get, the more I realize just how important these conversations are. For me, breast cancer isn’t just a statistic. My grandmother had breast cancer, so it’s something I’ve always been aware of in my own family. I’ve had multiple Built by Borda girls whose moms have gone through breast cancer, and two years ago, the first of my own Built by Borda girls went through her own battle. It’s one thing to know that approximately 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. It’s another thing to see how many people around you have been affected by it. And while breast cancer is something we absolutely need to talk about, it’s not the only women’s health concern that deserves our attention. One of the reasons I’m so passionate about working with young female athletes is that I want them to understand that taking care of their bodies is about so much more than sports performance or appearance. We’re building habits, confidence, and knowledge that I hope will help them advocate for their health long after their athletic careers are over. And for all the moms and women who spend so much time taking care of everyone else, I hope this is a reminder that your health deserves that same attention. We can’t prevent every diagnosis, but we can learn more about our bodies, understand our risks, make healthy choices, and stop putting off the things that matter. That’s also why we’re hosting Grace with Friends on October 23, raising money for Pink Ribbon Good to support people and families facing breast and gynecological cancers. Because taking care of ourselves matters. And showing up for each other matters, too. 🩷 Hope to see you there! Pick a slide to share! #builtbyborda #womenshealth #stronggirls by @gymjen99
A little lifting, a lot of fun, and a really great reason to get together. 💗 GRACE WITH FRIENDS is back, and we’d love for you to be part of it! On Friday, October 23, we’re getting together at Friendship Fitness/Built by Borda for an afternoon of lifting, cheering each other on, and raising money for Pink Ribbon Good, an organization that supports women and families facing breast and gynecological cancers right here in our Columbus community. The workout is Grace: 30 clean and jerks for time. You can do it yourself, split it with a partner, or scale it to your ability. And if lifting isn’t your thing, come hang out, cheer everyone on, and support the cause! This event is about so much more than a workout. It’s about getting our community together to do something good for people who need it. -Friday, October 23 -4:30–6 PM -Friendship Fitness / Built by Borda Grab a friend, sign up, and come be part of it! 💕 Lift weights. Give back. Do good. #gracewithfriends #breastcancerawareness by @gymjen99

Sports give girls opportunities to be brave. To take risks. To fail. To try again. To discover what their bodies are capable of. To realize that being strong, confident, competitive, and powerful are GOOD things. And I think this matters even more in sports like gymnastics, where the pursuit of “perfect” can become such a huge part of the experience. It’s one of the reasons I love getting female athletes in the weight room. Because the weight room doesn’t ask you to be perfect. It asks you to work. To struggle with something. To keep showing up. To add a little more weight. To learn a new skill. To fail a rep and try again. To take up space and get STRONG. And those lessons go so far beyond sports. There’s a reason so many female athletes go on to become leaders. Sports can teach girls to trust themselves, use their voices, do hard things, and walk into spaces knowing they belong there. Yes, I want the athletes I work with to have fewer injuries and perform better. But this work has always been about more than that. I want girls to see their bodies for what they can DO, not just how they look or how perfectly they perform. Because we don’t need another generation of girls afraid to get it wrong. We need girls who are brave enough to try. ⚡️ #builtbyborda #movebetter #stronggirls #workhardstayhealthy by @gymjen99

Three generations. 🩷 Gymnastics has given me a lot. Strong women. Hard lessons. Discipline. Resilience. But one of the biggest reasons I do what I do now is because I want girls growing up in sports to know their worth goes beyond performance. I want them strong. Healthy. Confident. Supported. I want them to know they can do hard things. Happy Mother’s Day to the moms, grandmas, and women helping raise strong girls. ⚡ #builtbyborda #strongwomen #mothersday #gymnastics #youcandohardthings by @gymjen99
