„Die Berliner Künstlerin Simone Haack gehört zu den surrealen Erfinderinnen der Gegenwart. Seit ihrem 17. Lebensjahr führt sie ein Traumtagebuch, in das sie nach dem Aufwachen ihre Nachtträume notiert. Damit will sie die Logik der Träume aufspüren. »Das Irrationale, das Beunruhigende und die Intensität emotionaler Zustände«, erzählt sie. Das Unrealistische malt Haack dann in realistischer Manier.

(…) Für Simone Haack sind Haare ein Träger von Identität, eine Bühne für psychische Vorgänge. Sie tragen unsere Vergangenheit in sich, Informationen und Erinnerungen, aber zeigen auch, wer wir sein und welche gesellschaftliche Rolle wir uns überstülpen wollen. »Jede einzelne Haarsträhne verweist auf eine konkrete Person und trägt biologisch betrachtet die Information einer ganzen Persönlichkeit in sich«, so Haack.“

GESPENSTER ZÄHMEN

Der Kunstverein Gera präsentiert mit „Gespenster zähmen“ die erste Ausstellung der Klasse Haack der Universität der Künste Berlin.

Simone Haack hat 2025 die ehemalige Klasse für Malerei von Valérie Favre an der Universität der Künste Berlin übernommen. Der Titel greift einen Gedanken des französischen Filmtheoretikers André Bazin auf, der das Auswählen innerhalb eines umfangreichen Materials als den Versuch beschreibt, „Gespenster zu zähmen“. Die Studierenden greifen diesen Gedanken in ihren Arbeiten auf: Sie verhandeln Bilderfluten, legen frei und ordnen neu.
