SIBLING LOVE🔒
#13 Senior Hallie (@haalllie) the bond behind her and her brother @norris__jr is the reason why Hallie is playing the sport she loves 🏀. Hallie mentions “Me and my little brother are really close. We grew up playing basketball working out and training together since little kids pushing each other to be the best we can be. I’ve always also had the big sister mentality, making me hold myself to a high standard to be the best that I can be so my brother has someone to follow and look up to.“ even though she was trying to be at her best for her brother she also had to be at her best on the court. Hallie stayed home in Hawaii to play at the university of Hawaii, she said “It was always my dream since a little girl to play basketball at UH. I remember going to the games from a young age wanting to be one of the girls. The biggest reason why I stayed home though was my family. My family is a big part of who I am. They are my rock and foundation, so it’s been a blessing to play in front of them and those I love.” With that being said her father continued to inspire her through out her basketball career she said “I grew up in a basketball family. My dad inspired me to play the game first. He coached me from a really young age and developed my love for the sport. Also my uncle, Otis Birdsong played in the NBA. Although I never got to see him play because he played before I was born as a retired player he does basketball camps giving back to his hometown and community and it’s something that I’ve admired and has inspired me as well, acknowledging the importance of giving back and what the game of basketball can do for others.” She knew basketball was all around gonna be her sport🏀💚. With that Hallie talked highly about her coaches and teammates she said “being at UH she was surrounded by strong and confident women, she was blessed to be apart of the women’s basketball team and blessed to be coached by head coach Laura Beeman,
assistant coach khalilah mitchell, graduate manager Dyesha stahley, Seeing how these women hold and carry themselves have empowered me and inspired me.” Hallie will be graduating this spring with a BA 🏀🎓 congratulations! #Gobows🌈 taken in Stan Sheriff Center by @haalllie

A bittersweet ending 💚🤍

It’s taken me awhile to finally make this post but it’s now time to finally close this chapter of my life. My 4 years here at the University of Hawaii have been nothing but a blessing. Being able to play the game that I love and represent my home state and my family is something that’s very special and even surreal to me at times that I had this opportunity. It was always my dream to play here at UH since a little girl and I’m fortunate enough to say that my dream came true.

My journey was not an easy nor smooth one, but it was a memorable one and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I have always lived by, live by faith not by sight. I give all glory to the man above for being my rock and light during my trails and tribulations and for blessing me with his grace.

Thank you to my family, coaches, staff, fans, and most importantly my teammates throughout my career for making my college journey so incredibly special. To my coaches thank you for taking a chance and giving this local girl the opportunity to make her dream come true and for being great role models in my life. To my teammates our laughs, inside jokes, and friendships willI last a lifetime. You all are a big part of why I stuck it out. I love you all more than you could ever know. #13 out ✌🏽❤️ by @haalllie
