Designing for ALL of Life.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

“Wings of Change” finally in its full glory. 🙌🪽

After nearly three years of sketches, conversations, and relentless exploration, the sculpture has finally taken physical form.

Inspired by life, DNA, transformation, flight, and the cycles of existence, the piece centers on two intersecting spirals.
A sequence of spheres symbolizes the cycles we all move through, moments of immersion, challenge, growth, and renewal. For the first time, birds become a central element in my work. A flow of elements that seamlessly evolve from intricate feathers and leaves into birds taking flight. Flight, for me, is a metaphor for life itself. We grow our wings, learn to fly, land, and when life shifts, we learn to fly again in a new way.

Light is another thread, asking how we can live brighter, more radiant lives. And finding alignment; coming to the center point where everything perfectly lines up.

Wings of Change now lives at NorthPoint Development in Kansas City, created in collaboration with @ari.lazer whose creativity and craftsmanship helped shape the final piece in profound ways. He joined the process halfway through and helped transform the vision into a three-dimensional reality. He brought his own creative eye, experience, skill, and sensitivity to the work, and infused the piece with priceless contributions.

Seeing an idea that lived in my imagination for so long finally materialize is hard to put into words. Every artwork begins as a wild thought. This one found its wings. 🪽🙌🪽

Big thank you to @celialopbac for the countless hours through all the phases, her immense dedication, attention to detail and refined creative eye is always essential.

This past year it has been such a delight to be collaborating with @claudiabuenoart - a series of dream come true moments, in art and life. And watching this spiral of 84 steel feathers come together is at the top of the list.

Deeply grateful for @roxizendegi and @habritual for opening these doors, and coordinating the project. To @bentimby, April Pugh @ingrainstudio, and Emily Loubser for being such a fabulous team on the ground!

And to Nathaniel Hagedorn, and the whole amazing team at @northpointdev for the vision, trust and tremendous support in bringing all the pieces to life.

Stay tuned for the completed piece. by @habritual

📣 HAPPENING NOW: “regen•era rising” a virtual summit sharing how we answer the question: WHAT DOES A WORLD THAT WORKS FOR ALL OF LIKE LOOK LIKE? 🔎🌎🌈

Here’s a brief, but deeper look into the themes flowing within our three-day (June 19-21) virtual summit:

June 19: The Roots of re-Membering
On this Juneteenth, we remember that healing begins by re-membering - putting ourselves back together again. As we honor the roots of collective liberation, we nourish the soil beneath us, so that together we may grow into a future where ALL of Life can flourish.

June 20: Re-Wilding Our Civic Imagination
Biodiversity is essential to ecological flourishing, creative diversity is essential to Civic flourishing, re-Wilding our imagination happens at the boundary between what lies within us and what we share with our communities.

June 21: Re-Storying the Commons, Our Great Turning
Story, at its heart, is about collective relationship. When our collective agreements are out of balance, it is a sign that our stories are out of balance too. To turn the corner on this great journey we explore the greater turning of our collective story.

pARTicipate with us, and become a part of the narrative! All ticketing information is available at bit.ly/regenerarising or comment REGENERA for a direct link!

Join us online. Sliding scale ticket options available. Can’t join us virtually? Want to gather in person? Join us in person July 3-5 in Hopland, CA.

Won’t you be our neighbor?

regen·era is our floating protopian city — the home and heART of the Regenaissance. A container and catalyst for a cultural movement transforming how we think, live and relate to each other and the planet.

This June 19–21 (Virtual) and July 3–5 (In-Person, Hopland CA), we’re inviting you into its neighborhoods:

🌱 Natura — wellness and connection with yourself, others and the natural world
🔬 Agora + Bucky’s Lab — the maker’s space for deep ideas, synergetics and anticipatory design science
🌀 The Village — imagining the future of living in harmony with nature and each other
🎨 Art District — where artists co-create and share regenerative work in every corner

Which neighborhood are you drawn to?

Together we’ll celebrate our fourth cohort’s work and weave new possibilities at the intersection of design, art and science — for a world that works for ALL of Life.

A bioregion is an area defined by natural rather than political boundaries.

In alignment with the Design Science Decade, the Design Science Studio efforts to “solve humanity’s most pressing problems in the shortest possible time while enhancing the Earth’s ecological integrity.”

Place-sourced bioregional resilience and regeneration is critically needed to support efforts towards planetary thriving.

“Our institutions are no longer serving us. We must give birth to institutions that support a new kind of economy, a new kind of philosophy, a new kind of ontology, a new way of being on this planet.” – Lynne Twist, Founder Pachamama Alliance

💭🌱🌎LET’S IMAGINE & THE POSSIBILITIES OF FLOURISHING TOGETHER IN THE COMMENTS: ✨🌸🌊

What’s your (r)Evolutionary project seeking to honor?

Physically, we’ve entered a new month, but mentally, the Design Science Studio team is still absorbing and replaying the success of its inspiring, transformative salon –– Dissolve & Bloom (held on March 22)!

The 9+hour virtual salon hosted artists, musicians, ecologists, design scientists and performers from around the world who all convened to share their visions that dissolved our separation from Nature, and boomed into regenerative + just futures.

This event was only possible with the help of this brilliant and beautiful commUnity, who are all passionate and share a collective goal in searching for a path to help heal the eARTh and its people.

We’re so thankful for all the hard from the Volunteer and Production team and our pARTners in making the Dissolve & Bloom Salon not only possible, but a huge success!
