First of all, thank you to everyone that came to watch our game last Sunday! Much appreciated! Hackney Borough laced up against FC Niva in a cup final which meant everything to us all in East London. The game started very cagey from both sides as expected in a cup final but it was Hackney Borough that took the lead from @billzo.k as he showed great composure to latch onto a mistake from FC Niva and slot the ball in the back of the net after sitting the keeper down! We went into the break with our 1 nil lead still intact. The lads knew that if they do not concede a goal in the 2nd half, they'll be crowned champions! The 2nd half starts with FC Niva flying out the blocks knowing that they have nothing to lose and all to gain in this final. FC Niva went long during this phase which was very rare and caught Hackney Borough by surprise, Niva found themselves 1 on 1 and managed to finish with precision. At 1-1, Borough really need to wake up! The game was very intense as both teams are seeking a winning goal to get this game done and dusted. Clumsy defending from Niva allows Hackney Borough a free kick with 10 minutes left on the clock. Up steps @jbriggsy10 ...you know how that story ends, @jbriggsy10 puts the Borough 2-1 up! The scenes were mental! Borough need to hold on for a maximum of a quarter of an hour and the titles is ours 🤞🏾 Everyone was asking the ref to blow his whistle and a few punters were timing the game and knew time was up! Ref looks at his watch a few times and blows up for the last time! Borough are cup champions!!!! 🏆🎉 taken in Hackney Marshes by @hackneyborough

⚽ HACKNEY BOROUGH 1–1 CITY EAST 🔥 THE EL CLÁSICO OF EAST LONDON! ⚔️ A fierce East London derby ends all square, but the Borough will feel it’s two points dropped! City East took an early lead before Ashan picked out Roddy Lemba with a beautiful ball over the top, who finished brilliantly! ⚽🔥 That’s 3 goals in his last 2 games! The Borough dominated the first half, playing some excellent football, but the second half became a proper derby battle with both sides going at it. A controversial penalty decision in the final five minutes left the Borough frustrated as the referee waved play on! 👀 🏆 MOTM: RODDY LEMBA ⭐ One point gained, two points dropped. We move! 💪 UP THE BOROUGH! #HackneyBorough #EastLondonDerby #GrassrootsFootball #uptheborough taken in Hackney Marshes by @hackneyborough

⚽️ HACKNEY BOROUGH 3–3 Nyva Six goals. Three penalties. One top game. 🔥 A highly competitive battle against Nyva ends with the points shared. First half, Nyva were the stronger side and caused us plenty of problems. Second half? Completely different story. Borough came out all guns blazing after the break, putting them under serious pressure. 💨🔥 Three penalties in the game — two for Nyva and one for us. 👀 In the end, 3–3 was probably a fair result between two very good sides. 🤝 ⚽️ Roddy Lemba x2 ⚽️ Brian x1 🅰️ John x1 🅰️ Sham x1 🅰️ Kwavo x1 We take the point and move onto the next. #HackneyBorough #UpTheBorough #SundayLeague #grassrootsfootball taken in Hackney Marches Centre by @hackneyborough

This Sunday we’re up against the league champions from last season, who also lifted a cup. 🏆 A top Ukrainian side who are competing for trophies most seasons, so we know we’ve got to be on our A-game from the first whistle. Focused, disciplined and ready for the challenge. It’s going to be an entertaining one, trust me! 👀🔥 Come down, show your support and back the Borough! 🖤🤍 #UpTheBorough #HackneyBorough #Matchday taken in Hackney Marshes by @hackneyborough

THREE POINTS AT THE MARSHES! Yesterday morning we took on Clapton CFC Sundays over at Hackney Marshes. The game started end-to-end, with both teams looking to play football on a pitch that definitely wasn’t quite Wembley standards. 😂 But the boys got the job done and secured another important three points. ⚽️ GOALS Shameek x2 🔥 Ashaan x1 🎯 ASSISTS Carlo x2 🅰️🅰️ Wackers x1 🅰️ ⭐️ MOTM — Shameek 🦾 Two goals and a big performance. Wasn’t always pretty, but three points was the main thing. Onto the next. 📈 #HackneyBorough #UpTheBorough #ThreePoints #GrassrootsFootball #hackneymarshes taken in Hackney Marches Centre by @hackneyborough
